  1. Not wanting to steal Lisa's thread but need some help for my guys. We are finishing up TT 3 after doing Saxon for K-2 and we (they) are still struggleling to recall math facts quickly. If I give them time they usually can come up with it but I'd like them to KNOW it so we can move on. We're still reviewing flash cards but if I can mix it up with a game or two I think it would be helpful. Thanks!
  2. I'll be getting my 8 and 6 yr old grandsons for a week next month, along with my own 9yo twins it'll be like a fraternity around here;) We also keep the 3.5, just turned 2 and 5 month old for shorter amounts of time. Don't want anyone to feel left out:)
  3. We use Teaching Textbooks and they can do a lesson in 15-20 minutes normally.
  4. We switched to Teaching Textbooks this past year for the very reason that I wanted them to become more independent. It worked well, they (9yo twin boys) enjoyed it. Well mostly, at least no complaining when I said it was time for math:) But we did supplement with flash cards for multiplication/division. They used the cd's primarily, I did have them do the written quizzes to put into their portfolios.
  5. My plan is to do a math lesson three times a week (Teaching Textbooks) and multiplication review every few days. We are NOT math people so taking off for the entire summer would be misery for all of us in September. We're doing the library program for reading (which they would do on their own anyway), practicing piano (official lessons are over until September) and I want them to start Typing Tutor again, somehow that got dropped a few weeks into the school year. Blessings, Kelly
