  1. Day 179; last day of any sort of bookwork/paperwork. Tomorrow is a trip to Gettysburg for our last official school day. I am so thankful!
  2. Back from Costco, relaxing on the sofa Managed to vac (dh bought and installed new belt) and dust since I didn't have to make dinner Have a good evening everyone!
  3. :grouphug: Jean :grouphug: I was getting concerned, hope it's a better day for you. Towels and MB shower curtain Clean MB bath School Breakfast and Lunch Costco list Drop dh's car at mechanic for tires Drag dh and boys to Costco with me (I need them to help lift the heavy things) Dinner: Costco:) Should work on Bible Fellowship lesson but really want to sit in sun :coolgleamA:
  4. IDK, you know your kids best but the school situation sounds a little scary :scared: .
  5. Sorry about not seeing the grands, I know that must be disappointing :grouphug: . Hope dh is feeling better very soon and I'll also be doing a Costco trip tonight, cuz we are out of almost everything!
  6. I am planning on using Exploring Planet Earth with my rising 7th graders. I realize that this is sort of "science light" and that's okay as long as I can figure out what to use alongside of it. Should we go through it in a semester and do something else for the other semester? If so, what? And what hands-on activities can I add, TOPScience Rocks and Minerals or something weather related? Science is so not my thing. I think my boys have gotten the short end of the stick because of it and I'm feeling badly about it. So, if any of you wonderful ladies who LOVE science and do such a good job planning this sort of stuff out could give a sister a hand, I would really appreciate it. And so would my boys!
  7. Tammy, You are officially awesome! So do you just plan to do everything in one day and keep up through the week? I usually break my housework down into a little each day but it would be nice to have it all done at once. For as long as that lasts :001_rolleyes: .
  8. Well now, I "thought" I had my writing curriculum chosen for next year. This looks really good! Ugh!
  9. We always try to get to a local minor league baseball game. One of my boys love it, the other tolerates it, but it's a fun night. We have an inground pool, so they can swim for 30 minutes and then dry off and go do something else when they want and I don't have to lug coolers, chairs and pool bags anywhere, love it! We did the community pool thing with the older four and I was grateful to be able to, we spent a lot of time there each summer. We do the fire pit, catch lightning bugs, try to do some fun/educational day trips. We help with Child Evangelism Day Camp at our church each summer. This year, for the first time, we will be taking an entire family vacation. Dh and I, twins, single son, married sons and daughter-in-laws, married daughter and son-in-law and, of course, grandchildren! Hoping this becomes a tradition, probably not every year but every two or three years would be nice.
  10. My two oldest are just one week shy of two year apart and the two youngest are twins, 2 minutes apart;)
  11. Tammy, I am impressed that you vacuum, dust, mop AND clean 4 bathrooms all in the same day! whew, that would wipe me out. Mowed the lawn too, you are on a roll!
  12. I love our master bed/bath and that it's on the first floor. I love that all other bedrooms are on second floor. (not sure I would have felt that way when kids were babies/toddlers) I love that we have enough room to host family and friends frequently. I love that we have a deck and inground pool off of the family room (and the dh is sole caretaker of said pool) I love that we have a little over an acre of property and everything is green right now. I love our two car garage. Never had one before this house and will never go back to not having one. I love that we have enough bedrooms for a dedicated schoolroom and an office for dh, who works from home. And room for all the grandbabies to nap:)
  13. I am attempting to do this. Putting together a mix of yr 6 and yr 7 from the AO schedule as well as adding in my own finds. Coming from using MFW since K, with tweaks here and there, it is a little intimidating.
  14. Good Morning! Rainy day here, that will affect some plans for tonight. Meals Laundry School Catching up on what didn't get done yesterday because of trip to zoo Kid's program at church ( we planned to plant marigolds (which I purchased yesterday) around church for our Christian service but I think the rain might affect that, try to do it next Wednesday) Dinner: Leftover spaghetti Best wishes on your first day at the new job, Angi! And Happy Anniversary!
  15. We had a wonderful time at the zoo;) All is done that's getting done. Reading online a bit now and then going to bed to try to get one chapter in before I fall asleep.
  16. Good Morning, ladies! It's supposed to be mostly sunny and in the 70's today, my kind of day:) We will do school in the morning and the afternoon is devoted to taking my 5yo granddaughter to the zoo for her birthday. It's a surprise and I think she will love it;) Laundry School Zoo Home Depot for flowers Marinate chicken for dh to grill for dinner.
  17. This might be our grammar for this last full week of school, thanks!!
  18. All done except for dinner and meeting. Oh, and an unscheduled stop at the grocery store. This will make 3 days in a row that I've been to this particular store. :glare:
  19. Yep, a full bathroom cleaning really only takes me about 15-20 minutes. At least that's what I tell myself :tongue_smilie:.
  20. Thanks for the update, Lisa. I know it must seem overwhelming (at least it does to me) but you'll find your way soon. Hang in there!
  21. We had a very nice but busy weekend and now it's time to buckle down and tackle this week. Last full week of school for us too! Hoping to cap it off with a trip to Gettysburg on Saturday for day 180! Laundry meals cleaning something school Olympian meeting at 7pm (our Wednesday night kids program, dh and I are leaders) Dinner: Spaghetti and meatballs
  22. That's pretty much how it is here. Now that it's lighter longer we may miss it for outside work but usually we're watching it.
  23. Care to share your bathroom cleaning ritual, Lynn? I love and require a clean bathroom, just don't like doing it. I live by routines. Great thread, I'll be back later when I have more time.
  24. I was thinking the same thing. I certainly wouldn't want to live in the closest city to where we are but living just 20 minutes outside of it makes a huge difference.
  25. Ha! The one I make in the Keurig;) I'm the only one who drinks ice tea in our immediate household, so I make myself a fresh cup every time. When I make it for a large group, I use my Mrs. Tea someone bought me for a housewarming gift about 23 years ago. I use eight tea bags and about a 3/4 cup of sugar, maybe add some peach syrup or lemon or mint, depending.
