  1. I actually lost several lessons of LCI flashcards this year! Ugh! I make a few of my own but think we're going digital for the summer.
  2. Literally! The boys had their spring piano recital on May 18th. I gave them a full two weeks off of piano practice. We do not do lessons in the summer but they practice on days that we are home. Over the last few days, both of them have sat down at the piano and played for "fun". One of them told me that he didn't want to forget what he had learned. Out of the mouths of babes. Or, in this case, soon to be 13yos:)
  3. That's really hard. I feel for you. One of my sons was in basic training for the Army when a good friend was killed on a worksight. I had to tell him over the phone; there was no other option. I will never forget having to listen to my 20 yr old son cry over the phone and not be able to do a darn thing about it. Thankfully, your daughter will be home soon, in the loving arms of her family. It's a difficult time, no matter the circumstances. Prayers for all.
  4. Oh Amy, it sounds like you should get that checked out. Prayer appreciated for our youngest grandson, Cade, he will be 14 months 6/2. He was bitten by a tick last week, he is on antibiotics since last evening but his fever spiked at 105 during the night. My son and daughter-in-law were able to bring it down to 102. Praying for a much better day! This is my first day this week that I've been home all day and able to get much of anything accomplished. And here I sit in my robe and jammies talking with you all;) Clean up breakfast Master Bedroom sheets, towels, dust and quick clean bath Clean boys bathroom Work on portfolios Meals Pick up car from inspection and possibly make a Target trip Cool and rainy here today; I'm thinking pasta for dinner
  5. Hope you are feeling better, Jean and Amy. Best wishes to your dh and the job situation, Amy. Yay for the 3.5 miles. That's awesome:) Back from funeral. It was a lovely service. My dh's aunt loved music. There was a choir, bell choir and a string quartet. Beautiful.. Now, relaxing for five minutes before we pack up the van for tonight's last regular Olympian meeting. Have to be there early to set up food for cook-out. Then, it's home, jammies and bed. Anything else can wait for tomorrow.
  6. Jean, I hope you are feeling well this morning! Dh and I have to attend the funeral of his aunt today. It's over an hour away and the boys will be staying with my mom. Tonight is our last regular Olympian meeting with the kids and we plan to plant flowers, cook-out and play games. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate. So, other than the one load of laundry that I put in the washer at 5:30 this morning, I don't plan to get much accomplished.
  7. Ours is set up this way but the master bedroom is back a 4-5 ft hallway from the family room and I never hear a thing. dh will often watch baseball after I've gone back to bed with my book and I never hear him. I also think our house is well insulated and that helps.
  8. Ha! I just told dh that it feels like Monday and I can't believe tomorrow is Wednesday already. I don't feel ready for Wednesday  .
  9. Good Morning! Cleaned up last night after the mass invasion of my people so things look pretty good this morning Laundry Quick clean powder room Taking my mom to lunch for her birthday Ongoing project for this week and next: Prepare boy's portfolios for evaluations next Friday and start listing curriculum for sale. Dinner: Leftovers from yesterday's cookout
  10. My day went crazy so quickly I didn't even have time to check in this morning. As of yesterday morning, we had no plans for today. As of 10:30 this morning, two of my sons, their wives, 6 grandchildren and my parents joined dh and I and our twin sons for lunch and swimming! That's what happens when you have a pool and it goes into the 80's on a holiday:) I did get two loads of laundry done, made food for breakfast and lunch, cleaned up, ran vac, ran dw, cleaned glass tabletops and french doors (after gc left:;)) Now, I get to relax:) I hope everyone had an enjoyable day with their families.
  11. Good Morning! Evidently, my new wake up time is 3:00 a.m. Every. Day. This. Week. Ugh. Anyway, Church Quick stop at grocery store lunch prune the azaleas (sp?) And that is all I have planned, we'll see if I have motivation to do anything else.
  12. Tammy, What's Rolling Thunder? And, I hope your family appreciates that wonderful meal you've made for them :drool5: .
  13. Had a great time in Gettysburg, it was a beautiful day! My favorite way to end a school year:) Went over BF lesson, I think it could be about 10 minutes longer but maybe the ladies will chat more and stretch out my time. Now sitting on deck, overlooking pool, with the laptop. Listening to dh weedwack in the background. Oh well, it WAS peaceful.
  14. Good Saturday Morning! House work is caught up (mostly) Field trip to Gettysburg for our 180 day of school! Put finishing touches on BF lesson and that's about it for today, have a wonderful weekend everyone!
  15. Yep:) Once the whole way through and now I use it as a reference when planning our school year.
  16. This was what I intended to do initially, but it didn't seem like "enough". I will still be doing this, just adding to it.
  17. This is similar to what we do. We did a half day of school the first day and went to a movie in the afternoon. Tomorrow is our day 180 and we are going to Gettysburg for a field trip. I love homeschool!
  18. Did everything on my list except the Gettysburg itinerary. Will do that first thing tomorrow morning. Still have some work on my Bible Fellowship class but I can do that first thing before anyone gets up and tomorrow night, if need be. Good Night, ladies!
  19. Taking notes! Thank you for typing all that out. I think I know what direction to go in, just have to flesh it out.
  20. SilverMoon, You so kindly replied to my plea of help with earth science in the other thread, thank you! Can you share what you will be using for your 6th grader's ocean life, weather and astronomy? Thank you:)
  21. 34 years ago and I remember nothing except that we weren't supposed to throw our mortarboards, and we did  .
  22. Thanks, Lori! I was hoping you'd see my plea for help:) I knew the Tiner book wasn't going to cut it for a full curriculum, thanks for all your suggestions. Back to the drawing board.
