Personally, I'd rather keep it simple. MOH Ancients lessons are pretty short. Year two, they progressively see to get longer. You can give them youngers a coloring sheet and then cycle through again in four years. Add in some fun activities and maybe pick up a few picture books from time to time from the library to go along with the youngers :) We also enjoyed the HOmeschool in the Woods bible lap books during Ancients, so you may consider using that for some of the middlers. You can give the older one some assignments ala TWTM. Or you could have the olders do some notebooking to synthesize what they are learning.

perhaps they figure if the kid has a fever they need to see a Dr.? They obviously don't trust the parents to put a rule like that. No school should want kids in their building with a fever! My dd has a fever today and a snotty nose. There is no way I'm taking her to the Dr. anytime soon! She needs to rest, not go see the dr. The dr. would tell me to give her tylenol (which I'm not inclined to do, I'd rather let the fever do it's job unless she is miserable). ETA that the school culture is definitely problematic. Parents are not to be trusted - only school officials and Doctors are. :rolleyes:

Sounds like a good plan of action. Ditch the school at the end of the year, get DR. Notes for remaining absences and find a specialist who can help (gyn). Big hugs for your dd.

mine each saved up for ipad minis so they have Kindle on there. It is very convenient when we are each reading the same book because I only need to purchase one copy and we can read at our own pace.

Oh my heart goes out to you! I pray that God will guide you in your decision. It is so helpful to have these mamas here to share their ideas and experiences. I think if it were me, I would keep my kiddos home but be open to re-evaluate whether it is working for each kiddo (and you!) as you go along. I would allow my friends to help in any way they can. It sounds like you are a Christian, and I truly believe that a church family is called to help those during struggles.

Same here! Ds did pretty well, but it got tough at the end and he still is confused about a few topics. He has headgear at night and doesn't sleep well. I'm not exactly sure what the problem is. I bought TT7 and he is starting that but I'm not sure it is the answer. Wish I could help.im having a hard time knowing what the best course of action is but for now we will give this a try. Have you considered getting the "key to fractions" series to help shore up his skills?

Joliet, I believe that the singles are what they offered in past months. Does that help?. This has some items that would be somewhat pricey, but less items than some of the other boxes. The record book is quite thorough and impressive

ByGrace, I cannot compare as I'm not familiar. We are doing BJU science and just did a chapter on light. This box will have them design, build and make a telescope, so it will go well with that learning that took place a few weeks back. I could see using this as a main science curriculum if you did 12 boxes in a year and you don't want to cover a specific set of topics or science types.

We got ours today! We were a bit confused because the booklet said to watch the moon facts video and we couldn't find it on the website. Looks like fun, overall!

I found an otterbox commuter for the iphone 5 (not labeled 5s) for $24 on amazon and it is the real deal! The iphone 5 case works fine because it doesn't cover the thumbprint with the commuter. Since I drop it on occasion, I'm glad I have it. I do love the look of the slimmer cases though.

Thanks to each of you for your responses! I think what is important is to be present and in tune to what they are doing. For my son, he wants to rush through, but ends up making errors due to not paying attention. He did 3 lessons in one day and began to be tired towards the end LOL.L Last night I wrote out (by hand) each problem he didn't get correct on the first try. He re-did those problems and then took the first quiz. He got 100% on the quiz, and also, I could tell by looking through his re-work that he definitely understands. This is major review in the beginning, so I think the key thing is to impress on him to slow down, work dilligently, and do his best. I will continue to stick close as each of you have reiterated. It would be tempting for me to just step away and not get too involved! Thanks :)
