  1. I found this one, but don't know anything about it. Looks interesting, though. http://www.design-your-homeschool.com/language-arts-lesson-plans-the-hobbit.html ETA: Hmm, I think it's for a younger child....hmm. Sorry!!
  2. It's called postpartum telogen effluvium. I had a bad case after #2. It grew back! :)
  3. Mine took 12 days and I did receive an email. It was frustrating as I had year-end reporting to do and no scores. A phone call would def be in order after 15 days!
  4. 4. Two black and two beige. So one can be in laundry and one on my body (of either color).
  5. Fry on stovetop in frying skillet. Med heat, stirring CONSTANTLY, as to avoid burning. Works like a charm.
  6. For 5th: Mosdos Coral 4 novels Grammar/practice Voyage Megawords Caesar's English II Classical Writing We did these last year and are IMMENSELY pleased with the results. I'm not messing with a good thing.
  7. We did Town for 4th and it was a perfect fit. Ds was in a virtual academy for 3rd, so we never got a chance to do Island.
  8. It's back up. I think they are just messing with us now.....:tongue_smilie:
  9. Yes she can run "on her own". When she goes to USATF events, she is "unattached". My boys run T+F and CC and that's how we do it. I don't know her level or aspirations or if she *really* needs a coach. Mine are young and we coach them.
  10. I know right?! AAACCCKKKKK!!!! Where's the webbssiiittttteeeee!! lol:lol:
  11. So is it overly crazy if I keep an open BJU tab and go there to refresh it every 15 minutes to see if my scores are up? *hyperventilating* Today is the 10th business day and the suspense is killing me. It's the first time we've tested (ds10 just finished up 4th). :chillpill::chillpill::chillpill:
  12. Double injected fetal pig!!!! SQUEEEEEEE (no pun intended)
  13. Ooooo, that's one to bookmark! I don't need more stuff I don't need more stuff I don't need more stuff (as I go other there to shop now.....)
  14. I also dip fries in ice cream. The silverware in the dishwasher has to be arranged in order: big spoons, little spoons, big forks, little forks, knives. That way, I can just grab and put away without sorting.
  15. I really enjoyed reading this thread! I have a smile on my face! Mine is "bacon lover" without the spaces and vowels. Since I discovered bacon (um, around age 1), I have had some form of bacon-related nickname. Bacon, baconhead, oinky.....I LOVELOVELOVE bacon! My mother always had to shoo me away when she was making it. As a teen, if it was getting late in the morning and she wanted me up, she would just put on some bacon. I would emerge within 10 minutes. True story! As an adult, I search far and wide for the "perfect" bacon. Pastured, organic, uncured, local.....blahblahblah. (is there such thing as a bacon connoisseur?? I have been to a bacon-tasting. It was divine!!) Okay, nuff said. (just finished eating some, actually...on my blt) :)
  16. Agree. The practice book is where the magic happens. My kid loves this book (and he is a STEM kid who thinks LA is a waste of time as it takes away from math and science time). Just sayin. Definitely worth it, IMO.
  17. I don't think they were married. A sad end, regardless.
  18. Yes! We did Getting Started with Latin this year in 4th (as well as Spanish). Latin prep is planned for the fall. ds10 LOVES languages and wants to add Mandarin. I am a mean mommy and told him "no". He has plenty on his plate as it is.
  19. I did not get any kind of email. I ordered and received my box the next week. As I recall, it was that way last time I ordered from them, too. HTH
  20. Ds10 and ds7 just finished 4th and 1st, respectively. Hits MCT Town Level - ds10 ASKED to do this every day. And he is a STEM kid who doesn't like Language Arts. Check the Deck - What a find this has been. My STEM kids HATES to write and gleefully did this writing program. He made exponential gains with this. I am ordering it again for 2012-2013. GWG/WWW/SVV - first grader loved these. Getting Started with Latin, Getting Started with Spanish Misses Hakim US History - just getting the books out brought tears. ds10 just hated the narrative style. I bought the Concise version and ds10 says it's doable for 2012-2013. Jacob's Ladder - meh. Got the job done but kids indifferent MM1, MM5 k12 Phonics Intellego Unit Studies - don't think it was the program, per se, they just don't like history. At all. zzzzzzzzzzz
  21. DS10 (5th): MM6 MPH 5/6 (finishing 6), NOEO Chemistry III, Intellego Astronomy 6-8 k12 US History A MCT Grammar, Practice, and Vocab WWW5, Flip the Deck Literature (8 novels), Figuratively Speaking Latin Prep 1 SYRWTL Spanish 1 DS7 (2nd): MM2 ScienceFusion2 Scott Foresman Social Studies: People and Places Maps, Globes, and Graphs Horizons Reading S-V Phonics (review) WWW2, GWG2 Spell By Color (free, follows 1 rule at a time)
  22. Ex-fber here. I deleted my account a few months back. It was liberating and anxiety-provoking at the same time. I find that I don't miss it now.
