  1. I am just curious, several of you said you moved to a cheaper place to live. What general area did you move to? Don't the jobs in those areas also pay less?
  2. I think of someone that likes "young" children not of teenagers that have a woman's body. I believe the teen's are off limits, but I think any "normal" man is going to be attracted to a woman's half-clad body. I think they need to have self-control and look away. Which is getting harder since they are bombarded with it everywhere they look. I think someone is a pedophile and perverted when it is truly a child with a childs body. To make myself clear here; when I am talking about a teen, I am talking about someone that you really can't tell the age of, because of the way they are dressed and the makeup they wear.
  3. I am so surprised at the large amounts that people got back or owed. We have always tried to keep ours close to $0 in either direction. We are self-employed so it is harder to figure. One year we owe and the next year we get back, but we don't like owing the govt a large amount or them "using" a large amount of our money.:glare:
  4. I must have missed it. These kind of guys show up here all the time. I am curious what happened. Thanks
  5. Parabola, I am reading the game theory that you linked. It talks about a "hurley bird" and a "white rabbit". What is is referring to? So far, it is a very interesting theory. I wonder if this guy is on to something. What are your thoughts?
  6. my dd tried to get the materials for an animal that she doesn't show, and they wouldn't let her. She usually gets to go to master showmanship where you show other peoples animals. She wanted to learn about them ahead of time. They said it would give her an advantage over the other kids so they don't sell them unless you have that animal. My thoughts were that the kids who have all the animals have access to all the books, so all children should have that same access. If everyone could get them, but chose not to, but dd took the initiative to study than she should have an advantage. What do you think? Some of the materials are now available online. I would do a google search and just print what you want.
  7. I read the subject line and thought "born without horns, huh!?!?" I have been around my 4-H daughter and her goats too long. When I hear polled, I think born without horns, not politics!
  8. Oh no, my daughter has pregnant goats that are due in a few weeks. I guess I better not talk about them or we might turn into trolls! :O) Since the OP mentioned this I am reading every post wondering if this is the one that made you smell a troll. Hmmm, haven't figured it out yet!
  9. He is going to be taking a landscape exam and really needs to study, but hasn't found a lot of time to do so. So, he was in the "reading room" the other day and I shoved his info pack under the door and told him to take care of this business while he was taking care of the other business. :D
  10. put one of your other children's undies on the baby, and put a hand towel inside of the undies. Or you could potty train real early!
  11. It did ask me if I was sure I wanted to save it as M _______ tax file, and being so tired and tired of it, I quickly clicked yes. So, it is probably my fault, but it is still completely frustrating. I have both of the boys taxes done now, and most of my stuff re-entered. It was much quicker this time. I am going to bed and deal with it in the morning.
  12. After spending 6 hours at the computer working on Turbo Tax, I finally had my business and personal taxes done. I decided to start my sons. I also finished his. It said do you want to save. I said "YES" of course I do. My dh and ds have the same first initial and it saved his and overrode ours! I have to start all over. It is gone! I want to go cry now. :crying::cursing::banghead::angry::smash::crying:
  13. I am still working on ours. We are also self-employed so I am doing business taxes too. I also have to do my two sons. So, ask me, what in the world are you doing on this board!?!? I do not like taxes!!!!!!:tongue_smilie:
  14. Actually, it was really interesting to watch them. It was probably the coolest thing I have looked at under the microscope. ( I thought the kids would be totally grossed out by it though!) Every homeschool mom should check em out!
  15. I had to get a speciman from my dh so I could watch "the swimmers". I made sure the kids weren't around. I can't believe I am sharing that!
  16. Our neighbors have 6 dogs that bark non-stop. I called the dog control and they said that there wasn't anything we could do. They started coming on our property and scared two of my daughter's baby bunnies to death ( a $100 loss for her rabbit business), and there still wasn't anything we could do. I was going to do the "mdm butterfly" trick, but tape the neighbors dogs and play it back to them to listen to. So the neighbors would understand what we had to listen to. The police said if we did we could get fined for harassing the neighbors! Crazy, huh??!:001_huh:
  17. She said that they were all broody so she went and bought 14 chicks and stuck them under the moms and took the eggs away. The hens think they are theirs and are taking care of them themselves. She said they are healthier and doing better than any she has ever put under a heat lamp. She did have to isolate the mom and chicks from the other chickens.
  18. she basically didn't have toys. The girls had a special dolly, and the boys had legos, lincoln logs, and one other thing. They only could get the one (messy) toy out a day. They usually just played outside, and were very happy children, and never seemed bored. She has 9 between 1-18. They were very imaginative and helpful. It really helped her to keep down the clutter. Her home was very clutterfree.
  19. My daughter and I were taking sign language from a dear friend. (she is the one that passed away last month from pneumonia). It is such a beautiful, expressive language. We are going to try and continue learning it, but right now I start crying when I watch someone sign, so we need more time. I will share this with my daughter. Your son is doing an awesome job with it! I bet you are very proud of him.
  20. My 16 yod supports her own horse. She paid about $85 a ton last year and bought 3 tons (which worked out about right) The gentleman where she keeps her horse just found out that the prices have gone up by about $40 a ton for the hay he bought last year which he paid $120 a ton for, so it will be $160. YIKES!!! She is also paying $16.50 a bag for grain. I am not sure if she will be able to come up with enough odd jobs to support all her critters this year. (and by looking at the income poll - we, her parents, are poor compared to everyone else :001_huh: and probably can't help her). We are in Oregon, where are you?
  21. My family likes it much better than wheat. My middle son can't eat wheat so we tried it, and we all think the flavor is much better.
  22. can you imagine the guilt you would feel if this is something serious and you wait too long. My 36 yo friend died last month from a bug that was going around. She waited to go to the doctor. Maybe she shouldn't have waited. I always wait too, because of money. But after that I won't anymore. The Lord has always provided for a way to have the med bills covered. When my dd was 6 and had a belly ache all day I put off taking her to the dr. By the time we got her in her appendix had already ruptured and they grabbed her out of my arms and literally ran with her to the surgery room. Time can make a big difference in some things. I don't want to scare you or make you feel bad, but remember it is just money or a bill.
