  1. I think that's a normal hcg. Here's a chart. 2. BTW, our ps was 2 mornings a week for 2 year olds, 3 mornings for 3 year olds, and 5 mornings for 4-5 year olds. It was perfect for us.
  3. I don't know if it's the norm, but I sent mine to Montessori starting at 2 and they loved it. It was a very positive experience for us.
  4. Just want to warn you that short haired dogs shed too. I personally think short hair is harder to clean than long hair, because those pokey little hairs get trapped in fibers instead of sitting right on top where they can easily be brushed or vacuumed off. You might like a Cavalier King Charles if the long hair isn't a deal breaker.
  5. The combination of SSRIs and NSAIDs substantially increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. An occasional NSAID for a headache doesn't seem to be a problem, but ongoing use of NSAIDS in patients on SSRIs is not a good idea.
  6. Me too. I HATE it when people drop hints about things, because I don't pick up on them. If you want me to do something, you have to be explicit, because otherwise it goes right past me.
  7. So is he really being literal, or is he being argumentative? If he's doing it on purpose, I'd be really annoyed. If he doesn't get the nuances of language, I'd be much more tolerant. My dd just likes to argue.
  8. How could you read the story if you didn't see it? Braille? Sounds like my daughter. Yesterday, after listening to her argue about the most ridiculous picky semantic trivia all afternoon, I looked at her and said "BLACK"! She looked at me quizzically and I told her I was waiting for her to say white. She knocked it off for awhile, at least.
  9. :iagree: Around here, memorial services are frequently held at the funeral home. They aren't at all tacky. The funeral directors are excellent resources for explaining your options. You recently mentioned hospice. Are they involved now? You might want to discuss it with them, too. So sorry you're going through this. :grouphug:
  10. My favorite mystery writers: Agatha Christie Elizabeth George PD James Margaret Maron Carl Hiaasen Jonathan Kellerman John Sandford Patricia Cornwell (older stuff) Ruth Rendell BOOKSELLERS’ 100 FAVORITE MYSTERIES OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY
  11. I bought two things from Amazon today but that's all I've done. I just can't get motivated. No one needs anything. They already have too much stuff. I had to go to the mall today for a birthday present for dd's friend. I want to crawl under a rock until January.
  12. Mine is now showing "pages" and "groups", and I can't figure out how to change it back. Also, one of my photo albums that was previously set only to friends somehow became public. Strange.
  13. Facebook recently changed the way privacy settings work. I was browsing some friends of friends, and I can see lots more of their information than I could a few days ago. I'm guessing people don't realize that their information is more public than they intended. Just thought Facebook users might want to double check their settings...
  14. Cooler than the other foot? The concern is whether he is having bleeding or pressure in his leg that is compromising his circulation. A simple fracture can wait. Compromised circulation cannot. I'd go.
  15. Apples and Pears has both spelling and dictation. It worked very well for my language delayed son.
  16. Are you sticking goodies into the Kong? I used peanut butter and meat and that kept my dog busy for ages.
  17. I've had these dry dog treats for a couple months- the kind you get at the "buffet" at Petco. How long will they last?
  18. We eat rice 3 or 4 times a week. If something goes with mashed potatoes, it goes with rice, generally. The only thing I don't serve it with is pasta. It goes with just about everything else.
  19. It's dh's birthday so we're having beef tenderloin with roasted shallots, mashed potatoes, and spinach salad. That probably doesn't help you though. It's a once every few years meal here.
  20. I plan a menu every week, and specifically plan meals that use leftovers from previous days. For instance, Monday I made crockpot chicken chili. I threw an extra 2 lbs. of whole chicken breasts in the crockpot, and saved one pound for Tuesday's chicken enchiladas, and froze the other pound for future use. Friday we'll have ham and rice, and I'll make plenty so that I can make fried rice on Saturday. I'd rather spend a little extra time planning ahead so that I can be more efficient in the kitchen, because I'm basically a lazy cook.
  21. I got this one at Bed Bath and Beyond. It works fine.
  22. I agree with all that, except my HyVee bought potatoes sprout. I guess that's a good thing.
