  1. We love the series here. There is supposed to be a wii or computer game about them as well, but I think it was not being released in the US at this time. I would love to buy the set, but we watch on Youtube for now and read the books.
  2. I love that song. The really cool thing is I feel it has lead my husband to go even further in his walk...no prompting or anything, he just internalized the song.
  3. That is wonderful news!!! I am so thrilled for you, and thanks for updating.
  4. I have 1 5 qt and 1 7 qt. I use them concurrently about twice a week. When I do it is usually for vegetarian/meat versions of a recipe(chili) , or meal and dessert recipes(chicken in one, apples in the other). On yogurt making days I use them both,1 for the yogurt and 1 for dinner. I store them in the pantry.I am a minimalist so have alot of space available.
  5. I know there are hoops out there that are quite expensive, usually used for expressive dance, that are not hula hoops meant for kids to play with. They are weighted and wrapped as a custom order. I don't think I would have said anything despite not thinking it was the best choice for worship/church.
  6. I would absolutely call the police. There are people who jump from home to home(frogging)as a game. The cut toaster cord makes me think this is no friendly acquaintance. I would not wait for permission either.
  7. I requested membership on the Yahoo group and would love to be in for Oklahoma. This sounds fun!
  8. Ravenclaw= Myself,DD12 Gryffindor=DH,DS11,DS10,DS8,DS5,DD3,and probably DD1. DD3 is nicknamed Dobby because of how she looked when she learned to walk. It is always a fun conversation at church or homeschool events when the really anti HP people ask us why we call her Dobby.
  9. I use my breadmaker only for mixing/rising my dough. To make the bread is a 3 hr cycle, to rise it is 1.5. I have a dough cycle, I don't know if all machines do? http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Best-Bread-Machine-Bread/Detail.aspx Amazing bread...I mix 2 cups bread flour, 1 cup wheat.Let it go for 1 hr 15 minutes, transfer to 1 loaf pan, covered, for 15 minutes while I preheat the oven to 350, then bake for 25 minutes. Hope that helps.
  10. Welcome. :001_smile: It seems you have a great starting point set up, I hope you are able to find alot of good advice and support here.
  11. My DD12 is our lone vegetarian. I will cook special meals for her because I am proud that she has followed her conviction through so wholly. She became vegetarian at 9 and is very thorough...no gelatin, no shortening, no bouillon bases. She does eat our free range eggs, though not store bought, and she does drink the raw milk we buy. I do buy the fake meats on occasion, not usually the tofu based ones though. We are lucky to have a whole foods to go to that has all kinds of choices. She gets a tofurky and mushroom gravy at Thanksgiving. She can make her own seperate dinners when I ask her too. We are not huge meat consumers anyhow so I only have to accommodate her a few times a week. She feels strongly about this and I want her to know her voice is heard even when it goes against what I practice.
  12. Donate them. It will be a help to the person who buys them(and someone will).
  13. I put no. Maybe I should have put maybe because I think they probably intend it as a compliment, but adding a qualifier is detracting from it. I cringe when people say this to me. Looking good after having 7 kids does not equal looking good. It means they expected me to be fatter or frumpier than I am. Regardless...I smile and say thank you. It does irk me though.
  14. Congrats! I agree...babywearing, nursing, and flexibility are key. I also agree that babies are easier than toddlers, but toddlers are doable too. :001_huh::tongue_smilie: :)
  15. Hi. DH and I have discussed that should something happen to me the kids would be better off unschooling than going to ps. I am thankful he agrees. My oldest dd has also said she would homeschool her siblings if there was a need.
  16. The kids and I clean throughout the day, and I do another tidy up after they go to bed(what I should be doing now!) I did it this way so they could see how I clean and eventually they learn to do it and start helping. I count it as part of homeschooling. ;)
  17. I liked reggae during labor and I really wanted Lightning Crashes(Live) during delivery but when the time came it didn't happen. I liked dancing through contractions. I think light instrumental, or those cds at Target or Walmart of ocean sounds/rain music, or soft praise and worship would be wonderful. Congrats on your upcoming birth!
