  1. Not for birthday parties here, but for bat mitzvahs and bar mitzvahs - yes.
  2. Sunshine peeking in the windows. Smiling kids. Nap time (for me!).
  3. I have a friend who ordered everything from Pottery Barn. Everything. :) She is too busy to do a lot of shopping - private practice therapist plus single parenting, plus NP program. It looks beautiful. Nice quality. She's been very happy. Go for it!
  4. New family members who are welcoming and loving. Improving health. Roasted veggies. Yum. Awesome dinner.
  5. DH shares a name with a big director, and they have this problem with email. DH often receives scripts, movie info, etc. And lots of info on house and garden renovations. He generally forwards the emails along, but sometimes just deletes. We laugh at it, mostly. :)
  6. This. She can ask locals and others in the area, this find remedies that are available where she is.
  7. Snow play with happy kids. DS, and knowing what to do for his allergies.
  8. Check exempt, send in the form. There will be other opportunities.
  9. Hoping they all improve quickly, and that your DH doesn't catch it! Hang in there.
  10. Health insurance. :) I am grateful that DH works for a company that pays for excellent insurances, and that they think it is important to do so. Also, everyone in our family felt human again today. Yay!
  11. Confirmed flu A in three of us here. DS did not have Tamiflu and fared much worse than DD, but to be fair - DS tends to fare worse whenever they are sick at the same time. :( I had Tamiflu, and despite having had it before, ended up hospitalized for chest pain - possibly an adverse reaction. Or maybe it was just the flu, but whatever the cause - it earned me an ambulance ride and a few days in the hospital. I'll shy away from Tamiflu in the future.
  12. I am grateful to be here, to be home, and sick in my own bed. I am grateful, enormously grateful, for my awesome DH who held down the fort, cleaned up after vomiting kids, did nebulizer treatments every 4 hours for one kid, managed meds (amidst the protests of a three year old), and stayed supportive for me after sending me off by ambulance. He couldn't be with me at the hospital, but he managed everything and is somehow still healthy and smiling. I love him for many reasons, but knowing I can depend on him is something I never want to take for granted.
  13. Glad you took her, and glad it was good news! Yay! Hope she feels better soon.
  14. I never ran more than a low grade fever. So maybe. And my asthma kid who normally spikes high fevers never did either. It's been low grade the whole time. If you take her in, ask for a mask in the waiting room. :)

  16. Glad they are both recovering. The hospital staff here is telling me that in our area, Flu A starts with vomiting this year, often. Yuck. It's the pits.
  17. I'm sorry. Might be the Tamiflu, those are side effects listed. FWIW, both of my confirmed Flu A kids have had vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhea. But they started before Tamiflu. I had an adverse reaction to Tamiflu (severe chest pain) and have been in hospital yesterday and today. They are telling me that in our area, Flu A comes with a lot of vomiting. I hope you feel better soon!
  18. Confirmed Flu A here. It started in DS with vomiting. I delayed taking him to the doc, thinking it was a stomach bug. It wasn't. We missed the window for Tamiflu. DD started a few days later - vomiting was the beginning. She's on Tamiflu. I have Flu A, too. No vomiting but nauseated, diarrhea, and stomach pain along with the usual flu symptoms. I was on Tamiflu. Posting this from the hospital, I've been here since yesterday - had an adverse reaction to Tamiflu. Hoping to go home later today. I hope it's not flu. But go check.
  19. You can freeze in large silicone molds, then pop them out and store in an airtight container.
  20. Tamiflu for the flu. Antibiotics for strep. A compassionate doctor. Bed. :) I'm grateful that DH is still standing, and that he's taking care of all of us.
  21. Awwww, I'm sorry. How heartbreaking. Sending hugs. Can I join your party? You're not alone. The flu struck here Monday morning as we loaded the car to go visit my mom. I haven't seen her in forever, and really miss her. :( 3 of us have Flu A, and two of us have strep on top of it. Both kids are volcanoes that erupt predictably and regularly - making for lots of extra clean up and laundry. I wanna cry. And our car is *still* loaded! Knowing just how you feel, and sending sympathetic thoughts... Along with virtual chicken soup.
  22. We buy refurbs from the apple store, too.
