  1. Looking for heavy leggings for my teen girls. They wear leggings with everything now -- short dresses, sweaters, etc. Most leggings are so thin that they don't really look so nice (my thoughts) as a replacement for pants. I've seen some leggings made from thicker/heavier fabric that I like, but don't know where to get them. Any suggestions?
  2. We took a family trip out East: Washington, DC, Williamsburg, Boston, Philadelphia... We made it a very educational trip on early US history. It was great and we ALL learned a lot!
  3. It's blank, to me. I wish I could picture His face, but I just can't. It's a mystery.
  4. We've had them before. I put everything (flour in particular) in sealed plastic bags, and also sprinkled bay leaves everywhere, including IN the flour bags. I've heard that bay leaves repel pantry bugs. Also, I wiped everything down well. I don't know what in particular helped, but it seemed to take care of the problem!
  5. I can't say that it affected my health, but it definitely affected my attitude on maintaining a balanced, healthy diet!
  6. ...or maybe it was September when we went. In any case, it was after the summer rush!
  7. We stayed in the Mammoth Hot Springs cabins and loved them. However, that was quite a few years ago. We went in October when rates were cheaper and the park was not at all crowded.
  8. Our family loved it. It does get better! We also enjoyed watching the movie of it afterwards.
  9. My kids didn't enjoy writing until they started enjoying reading. They didn't enjoy reading until I found just the right type of book that caught their interest.
  10. Very liberal, very much into social issues (in a good way, usually), very accepting of everyone, Christ may or may not be a part of it (He isn't really the focus, either way).
  11. I don't think they would call back on the weekend, unless it was a real life-or-death before the weekend's end situation. But, a call-back if it does happen really isn't bad. It's GOOD that they're being so careful and leaving no stone unturned!
  12. Go to http://www.whitepages.com, and it gives you the choice of "reverse phone look-up" or something along those lines.
  13. Agree with above. I personally would not want to be traveling that late in a pregnancy, but that's just me. Also, I did have problems with babies coming 3-4 weeks early.
  14. Also -- I meant to add... If this is something your child is really passionate about, you don't even have to set time aside for lessons; she'll just work it in because she loves it!
  15. My daughter learned to play the guitar (with absolutely no help from me or anyone) with the Marcy Marxer series: http://www.amazon.com/Kids-Guitar-1-Marcy-Marxer/dp/B000140I0W They are really fun songs too, and we didn't get tired of hearing them!
  16. Our family keeps a blog on my husband's recovery from his stroke.
  17. We had five children between the ages of 28 and 34 (for both my husband and myself). I felt great, and loved having them close together. They were and still are each other's best friends. I felt the same at age 44 as I did at 34, so would have been happy to have had more. However, my husband had a vasectomy at 35 since our youngest was having significant health problems, and it was quite draining for awhile.
  18. At that age, David Copperfield and Nicholas Nickleby. I liked others just as much and more, but these would be good ones for his age.
  19. Coconut milk. You can't use it as a substitute in every soup -- it definitely changes the flavor. But, I like it.
  20. My son buys all of his off of Amazon. They have everything these days.
