  1. I get that. I have tried everything only to realize that less is more. I'm back to old pen and paper. I have homeschool tracker plus, have used the well planned day planners. I even tried the well planned day online. I was leaning on trying the ultimate homeschool planner by Apolgia this year, but I resisted. Just pen and paper this year.
  2. I'm a convert. Just picked up our better binders last night. I'm hoping to get the dividers on sale soon.
  3. Same here. It's been 15 years and what I remember was pain. :scared:
  4. Math: Teaching Textbooks 5, Xtramath.org. I came across a list of math literature books on pinterest and I hope to check some of those out from the library. I need to do better about consistent trips to the library. Writing: Winning With Writing 5. I'm still tempted by IEW, but WWW is working, so we're still sticking with it. Grammar: Growing With Grammar 5. I also purchased a subscription to Grammeropolis from The Homeschool Buyers Coop. Spelling: Sequential Spelling. We started this back in March and I wish we tried it sooner. This is really great for dyslexic students. We've been doubling up on lessons and will be wrapping up level 1 this month. My goal is to work through levels 2 and 3 this year. We are using the DVD and downloaded onto iTunes to play on the iPad. This ensures it gets done, LOL.* Bible: Apologia's What We Believe Series, Vol. 3: Who Is My Neighbor? History/Geography/Bible: Sonlight Core D + E. I am really excited about returning to Sonlight and studying US History. I chose Sonlight because it is literature based and it's open and go. Art: Artistic Pursuits Book 1 Grades 4-6. *This is the first year we have used an art curriculum. It's independent, which is what sold me on this. I am really hoping it works for us. Critical Thinking/Logic: Building Thinking Skills 2 CD. We worked through the first level workbook. I wanted to try the cd this year. Science: Apologia Human Anatomy. We will work through this with a group of friends. We are really excited about this. We will work through Zoology 1 Flying Creatures on our own as a read aloud. Handwriting: Copywork for Future Superhero's. We will also continue to practice cursive.
  5. That's awesome. I understand how exciting that is. My 11 year old twins are finally at grade level after many, many years of struggling.
  6. I got a response within 2 days with my initial request for a refund. It took about a week for it to be processed, but they did refund minus 10%.
  7. I wonder if that will be access for the one or for the whole series?
  8. We both wear ours. Most of the time we don't wear them around the house, but for the most part we wear them.
  9. :iagree: We are returning to Sonlight after taking a 2 year break. No complaints here.
  10. I have been wanting to try that...maybe I can get the hubby to go for a midnight run :D
  11. I LOVE IT....LOL. I didn't feel confident in teaching writing and my boys really struggled with WWE. I really wanted to love WWE. I was bored to tears and my boys just didn't do well. I made the switch and never looked back. My boys are 11 now and we started at level 2 when they were 10. We had worked through WWE level 1 and half way through level 2. My boys zoomed through levels 2 and 3, we're skipping level 4 and moving onto 5. My boys have some learning challenges and WWW was just what they needed to get a good grasp on writing and get "caught up". The lessons are short and really break the lessons down for them. It just seems to work for them.
  12. I work from home as a virtual call center agent for West at Home. It is a legitimate work at home opportunity that allows me to choose my hours. Check out http://www.westathome.com.
  13. I just went ahead and cancelled. I still had a couple weeks to go on my 30 day trial but I figured I better stick with old pen and paper.
  14. Same here. Geez, I'm so grateful for how relaxed our homeschool laws are here in Fl. :grouphug:
  15. After homeschooling for 6 years, we are finally making significant progress. It seems like we were "stuck" for a while where we couldn't move forward in reading, spelling, and writing. My boys have had significant learning challenges due to a history of epilepsy, severe speech apraxia, and auditory processing issues. They have always been at the same level. We do most subjects together, but I also make time to work with them individually on writing and math. I don't really see much competition between them, or even jealousy. I do see that one is stronger in math skills while the other in reading.
  16. Wow, this is sad. Thankfully they caught this idiot in time.
