  1. My 12 yr old DD is reading it to my 7 yr old DD. The 7yr old is a fluent reader but she is enjoying having it read to her.
  2. I read an article awhile back that said Kegels are completely ineffective. http://mamasweat.blogspot.com/2010/05/pelvic-floor-party-kegels-are-not.html So I am sort of on the fence over whether to even do them. I have the same issue as your do now and then.
  3. Transitional Language Lessons Connecting Language Lessons Secondary Language Lessons Further Language Lessons I like all of these.
  4. Can you stomach the idea of the oral sedation? I was really afraid not to be all the way out but it turned out that I was sleepy enough that I couldn't have cared less about anything. Plus it left me with a bit of amnesia about the whole thing. It's much cheaper. MUCH. I am assuming it was Endodontists that you called? That is who you would need for a root canal.
  5. My Dh and I are adults, we both have android phones and neither of us texts. So no one needs it. We just email each other and it alerts us. That way we never have to pay text fees.
  6. I agree that video of SWB doing the dicatation with her son really helped me. I believe she said it way more than 3 times though. I think I need to watch it again to be sure but it seemed like more than 3.
  7. I don't always do party favors. Sometimes I might but it's certainly not a requirement.
  8. I just had a root canal for the same thing. I went to an endodontist and I had conscious sedation. I was sort of awake but I drifted off through it and the 90 minute appointment seemed like 5 minutes. I also do not have very much memory at all of the procedure. I highly recommend it. I am extremely fearful of dentists since the time one drilled through my cheek so I was really surprised it was able to calm me as much as it did. (The pills were Halcion and I took three of them an hour before my appointment). I will never have major dental work without sedation again.
  9. A friend of mine traveled to Ethiopia to adopt her son and the airline lost her luggage. Due to that she had only one pair of socks. Apparently some sort of parasite invaded through a crack in her foot (from wearing the icky socks the whole time). The parasite (worm-like) crawled all the way up to her knee and it was really hard to get rid of. She could feel them moving in her leg. So, that kind of stuff does happen! After reading this thread I am afraid to do anything but stand naked in a clean room. {{shudder}} And the fact that I am a Hive Mind Royal LARVAE is kind of squicking me out!
  10. I don't think it is. We have a family of 8 and a child with a medical condition so I like to have $3000 in the Baby EF.
  11. It's not? Every 4H club we've ever been in has had a monthly general meeting. I thought it was a requirement to keep your club.
  12. I don't believe in charging family interest. I would choose who I loan to wisely but I would never ask for interest.
  13. That would make sense. Although her title was what caught me because it infers that the homeschooling days were as she described today.
  14. I used to be deathly afraid. For me it took my DD being diagnosed with diabetes. When you watch an 8 year old give themselves a shot 5 times a day without batting an eye...you feel kind of dumb for being afraid of needles. LOL
  15. Everyone has given you great advice. I also have red flags flying everywhere. For me the red flag hit as soon as your son equated cuddling adults with his grandpa's pee-pee. I just cannot see any reason he would so quickly jump from one thought to another unless closeness with an adult man meant something bad or upsetting.
  16. How is this different from nook? Nook also does all of these things. I don't recommend hooking more than one nook up to the same account unless you want ALL the same books. Whatever you have on your nook and whatever you download will also be on the other person's nook. So, the way to get around this is to open a separate account for each nook. Then download the books to your computer and load the ones you want on the second nook into the My Documents folder. I did this for my girls because there were some books on my nook they did not need to have on theirs Kindle has a proprietary format. Anything you download for Kindle will not be able to be used on another e-reader.
  17. I pray that those children someday have some sort of normalcy in their lives. Sadly with those two horrendous, crackpot parents, it's not likely. No I do not know her personally but I know people who do. Even highly edited, you have to own your actions. And both Kate and Jon's actions have been deplorable. When you put yourself in the public eye, people are going to scrutinize you. That's the risk they took and I reserve my right to judge.
  18. Wow. Just wow. And wouldn't it be nice if the Superintendant could form a sentence too.
  19. What I like about WWE is that it really doesn't seem to matter what grade your child is in. It's all about what level they are at. I have a 2nd grader and a 4th grader both doing WWE2 and it is working beautifully.
  20. I wish my kids would make lists! They never ask for anything so I have to pay very close attention to choose the right gifts for them.
  21. I don't have a list but I would really love money towards buying a vacuum. We have had a loaner for a long while.
