  1. Anyone? I'm hoping for poetry suggestions and something beyond the obvious "I have a dream" speech.
  2. I'm stuck. Our history studies start at 1900 this year. Anyone care to share what they are memorizing for this time period?
  3. I don't know about painting the laminate, but for a top coat consider marine deck sealer (the clear stuff they use on boats). We used it to seal the wood top on a bathroom vanity, and it never discolors with water spots.
  4. Anything else? I can easily do a Google Search, but I don't want to read a bunch of advertisements. I want, true, trusted, real results verified by the HIVE!
  5. Thanks - this looks great and you can try it for 30 days free!
  6. After 20 years of following my husband to the beach, my fair Irish skin is splotchy and permanently freckled. I'm not leathery, but the skin on my neck and jaw is discolored. Anyone have a good fix that doesn't include $100's at the dermatologist?
  7. Also this board alerted me to hundreds of free curriculum sites that I had no idea existed. A quick search will give you a comprehensive list. :grouphug:
  8. Our writing program this year call for the boys to write several newspaper articles which I would like to format realistically. I'm looking for a simple, editable newspaper template that can be used with Word. We don't have any publishing programs. Is anyone able to help?
  9. Don't use it for the whole cycle - all the way through to a finished and baked loaf. The machine can't bake properly. Make the bread all the way through the dough cycle. Let it rise once more in your own loaf pan or free form a loaf and then bake in your oven. If you still hate it, at least you can tell DH you gave it a fighting chance for shelf space! Then chuck.
  10. IMO less important than the chain of hotel is its age, or the last date of rennovation. Chain hotels can have both corporate and franchise properties, this accounts for the variable in quality and cleanliness. However, even when staying at a franchise, the chain dictates how often the property must be maintained. Often this info is posted on the website or the front desk personnel can tell you, as it is a frequent question.
  11. For kids beds, I would do twin or full with loft and trundle. The idea of storing dressers or clothes in basement is a good one because then you could put a desk in a closet for computer or study space.
  12. So she doesn't consider herself an adult, capable of attending to someone half her age. This family needs more help than speech therapy.
  13. Two great vintage pics The Moffit Series by Eleanor Estes The Freddie Series by Walter Brooks
  14. Any other experiences? I think I may be skipping a formal software yet again this year and relying on my trusty Excel spreadsheet. I have HST+, but it just overwhelms me.
  15. before the discounted "beta" testing ends this month? Has the lesson planning side come through to be comparable to HST? Or is the whole thing calendar eye candy?
  16. This brand new line was released by Whirlpool this past week. It blends both. http://www.whirlpool.com/kitchen-collections_kitchen-ice-collection.content.html
  17. :iagree: Ice cubes will all melt in one day. Ice blocks last much longer. If there will be a fire pit, take a cast iron pan and a cast iron flat griddle. We cooked italian sausages, burgers and corn this last trip - delish! Also, we do cold/no-cook/pre-cooked breakfast and lunch. This frees up a huge chunk of time for daytime hikes. Breakfast cooking at camp = major clean up.
  18. Isn't it good when you get to say "yes" and be the fun, cool Mom? Ohhh, sorry you have a machine-gun shooting cat avatar, and I have a heart book - maybe you are always the fun, cool Mom!
