  1. I long to be paper free. We always hear about it but I've still got stacks, piles, baskets, files and drawers full. I've taken to hanging a bag inside the basement door and ignoring it. Dh is planning a bonfire in the fall.
  2. We just Freecycled ours. It held up well for 5 years. (We purchased a kit from Toys R US.)
  3. http://www.mammasmilk.com/pages/makeyourown.php The link is for some free patterns. Goodwill and other stores sell used ones for next to nothing. You could even call your local store and have them check for you. Hope the little one is well.:grouphug:
  4. I would eat it:001_smile:. Uncooked I wouldn't go near it.
  5. I use vinegar/water in a squirt bottle for the counters, sinks, hardwood floors and things. The kitchen sink gets a baking soda dusting and then spritz with vinegar and cleans up nice with very little elbow grease. Windex is on the Green list according to the bottle and I use that on my mirrors because I'm picky.
  6. We have tons of squirrels and they never mess with our pool. An owl landed on the last one and enjoyed a good drink. He was our only pool critter other than bugs of course.
  7. Oh gag...:ack2: Reason number 999 not to drink pool water.
  8. I like those kind of rains. We've had thunderstorms off and on all day and it's hot. Did I mention it's hot? All this talk about 4 seasons and No one mentioned it was humid in the Midwest.
  9. I'd go with the least expensive options. Peel those walls and paint them with an easy faux technique. There is a sand one that is so easy even I can do it. Clean or paint the cabinets and spray paint the old hardware. (Or repaper the walls and paint the hardware. New lighting fixtures are cheap now. You can also paint the old ones. Don't discount purging with cleaning with a little reorganisation thrown in. Putting in cheap under the counter lighting is another wonderful trick. We did the battery operated ones that can be found anywhere. Find a good use for those odd places over and under the stove. Would a microwave fit above or under the stove? I'm a shorty and use a stool that folds down and stores eaisly. You could always plop the stool in there. I love my pots and pan hanging bar. It's hung over the sink. Throw in some new kitchen towels and rug and your in business. Then come help me at my house.:D Thanks...I'm off to love the stuff I've got.
  10. Congratulations and welcome to the club.:001_smile:
  11. Green mucous is a take them in for most doctors and nurses. Hope it's nothing but regular old buggers.
  12. I'd call and talk to the nurse and see about taking him in. They always seem to ask the right questions. I hope the little guy is better soon. :grouphug: Hugs and prayers.
  13. What a heartbreaking accident. I just can't imagine.:grouphug: No stones here but 12 shouldn't be all alone out there on one of those machines. That poor, poor family.
  14. A choice between the two, lucky you. Is that 42 miles each way? We are Sam's members here...No Costco choice here.
  15. Tell you MIL to smile, make eye contact & step on his foot a few times. Those pinchers get the message real easy that way. My plan is to have a wish list and make a speedy walk to that spot and then quickly go around the entire sale. Have fun...I love a good book sale.
  16. :grouphug: I'm glad to hear a good report here too. :grouphug:
  17. (((Moira))) I don't much more than the other ladies offered. We made little garden memory stones. Making a pet comfortable towards the end is helping them feel better. That might comfort your little one. Even though she can't make him all better, she could help him feel better. We sent our dear dog off wrapped in a special blanket. I wish you peace.
