  1. With my 4th child I had increased BMs/Diarrhea for a week. Contractions that didn't do much but were there pretty consistently for the same length of time. I couldn't sleep and I was miserable. Doc suggested inducing and I went along with it.
  2. In my old suburb, we got a warning for having our boat parked in our driveway.
  3. I am 5'6" and XH is 5'7". Two oldest dd's will never outgrow me. They both stopped around 5'3". Third dd was 12 when she outgrew me. She is 5'7". The boys outgrew me around age 15. They are now 5'10" & 5' 6 1/2". The boys are both still growing. I have a friend whose 14yo son is 6'3". The dad is 6' tall so the kid is the tallest one in the family.
  4. I have been in a co-op that was only 3 families. I was in another co-op that had about 30 families. There is one co-op near me that is about as big as you describe.
  5. I think it depends on the last name. My last name is not very common. It's odd enough that I usually have to spell it for other people. My first name is long and some people don't know how to spell Elizabeth either, so I end up having to spell both names pretty often. I gave all the kids names that are short, reasonably common, and easily spelled. OTOH, my friend Mary Jones (yes, literally that) named her son Michael. It was the most common boy name the year he was born. Poor kid.
  6. O- is relatively uncommon. Someone who is O- is a universal donor, which means that anyone can receive your blood. However, people who are O-, cannot receive any type other than O-. It's actually very important for people who are O- to give as often as possible. In emergencies, O- may be given to a patient while they wait to get the blood typing done. So, yes, your blood IS more needed than other types. Please give.
  7. :iagree: I was never diagnosed with Celiac, but quit doing gluten to see if it would help any of my symptoms. My joint pain decreased significantly within a few days. I've been gluten free for about 18 months now and feel like a different person. I understand about bread. I still dream about eating good bread. But I feel so much better that I'm happy to live without normal bread.
  8. Arthritis. It doesn't have to be rheumatoid arthritis. I have it and started having joint pain when I was in my mid-30s. I eventually went to a rheumatologist and got tested and was told that it is osteoarthritis. I agree with the PPs who said that arthritis can be exacerbated by your diet. Once I learned that I am gluten intolerant and quit eating it, my symptoms decreased tremendously.
  9. When I bought my house in December 2009, I put down earnest money.
  10. If she truly has Narcissistic Personality Disorder, (and Impish's descriptions make me think she does) then that's like saying the water might not be wet. A person with NPD is not capable of feeling empathy. This woman is elderly and has already made it clear that she expects her son and DIL to take care of HER. If she shows up, she will expect Impish and her husband to cater to her needs. It's really all about Her. We're talking about a serious mental illness. Not someone who is a little annoying.
  11. I've been a few times. The youngest child I ever took was 7 months. The oldest "child" I ever took was 23. We had a great time every time. A few kids will decide it's childish when they are tweens or young teens. They are silly. People of all ages can find something fun to do at Disney World.
  12. Here's their website: http://www.schwans.com/ I don't think they have anything local. I have bought things from them in the past, but they are pretty expensive.
  13. :iagree: BTW, I suspect he's having an affair and that's why he's gone so much. If you get an opportunity, please share the links in my siggy with her.
  14. Forget about the kid who is bullying your DD, you've got a fundamental problem with a coach who doesn't care about the health of his team.
  15. I was at home with my 5 kids getting ready to go to the weekly Bible study. We had arranged an art class for the homeschooled students at the same time so the moms could do the Bible study, too. My husband called and told me to turn on the TV (because he knew I didn't watch TV in the mornings). I asked what channel and he said any channel. I turned it on and was shocked. I had an online friend whose husband was working at the Pentagon and I stayed home until I heard from her that her DH was okay. Then we went to church. Instead of doing the regular lesson, the church had set up a television and we watched some and prayed some.
  16. It's WONDERFUL! I read it aloud to my children when they were young. It's just as sweet and innocent as the movie, but adds more detail and back story for the characters.
  17. Yep. My in-laws don't have a relationship with my kids at all. A big factor is the fact that mil is such a control freak. She was mostly appropriate with them when they were pre-schoolers, but once they hit school age it all went down hill fast. Of course there was that whole disbelief in allergies thing, and letting her **** dog knock over my toddler leading to a fear of dogs, but I digress.
  18. In the past you could pay extra for tickets that didn't expire. I don't know if that's still going on. She sounds controlling and looney tunes. I'd have a hard time trusting her if I were you.
  19. I'm pretty sure that it's a violation of FEDERAL Law for you to do that. Not just a bit unethical. You could end up in huge trouble. I'd suggest you get a copy of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
