  1. This was a great post. Thanks for linking it. That may have helped me make my decision as to where we are headed next year. I have been worrying over it for months now.
  2. I have a copy, but honestly, it just sits on my shelf. It does have some really good ideas in it.
  3. I'm interested in to hear other comments. I am so torn about doing SL or TOG for next year.
  4. Thank you, Heather. I was hoping you would respond. I'm not sure if this is the move I want to make or not, but I am really weighing the pro's and con's of moving to TOG. I'm thinking through several different options right now.
  5. I think we are going to pick TOG up next year possibly with Year 2, Unit 3 since ds wants to do American history. We have been doing SL for the past 3 years. I love the books SL uses and would still like to integrate as many as I can into TOG. Is there a list or schedule out on a blog or site that might show which SL books could or have been integrated into TOG? I know TOG does use some of the same books, but I'm thinking beyond what's in TOG's IG. Clear as mud?!...
  6. We used core k when my oldest was in kinder, and are going to do it again next year for my middle ds for kinder. We have loved all the cores we have done, but core K holds a special place in my heart since it was our first year homeschooling and a great choice for us!
  7. Another vote for Artistic Pursuits!:D We have only used the K-3 books, but we are sold. The projects are very doable for me (the-non-artist). Supplies are easy to find and inexpensive for the most part.
  8. I'm strictly thinking ahead. We are going to start BBoLL1 next fall. So, it will be a while until we hit BBoLL2. My original question was b/c in TWTM it recommends using Latina Christina after BBoLL1. I would really like to start a program and stick with it. So, that is why I wondered what others thought of BBoLL2.
  9. So, do you think taking it slower and finishing the book over 2 years is a more reasonable pace?
  10. Your review is helpful. Exactly the kind of feedback I have been looking for. Thanks for taking the time to post.
  11. We have been using SL for 3 years. My children have much enjoyed the way history is taught. They have learned more in core 1 and 2 than I think I learned in my entire schooling career. I really have struggled about switching to something else that follows the 4 year cycle, but when I sit and make out my pro and con list, SL is a gem for us. We love the literature approach, and it works for us.
  12. Junkie here....in the sense that I'm always looking and researching. Thankfully, I don't have enough money to buy all the good stuff I find.
  13. LL2 seems to be new. Is that correct? I guess I just want to know if those that have used LL1 are likeing LL2 as well as the first one.
  14. I'm really interested in Lively Latin for next year. I'm wondering if someone that has completed Big Book 1 and moved onto Big Book 2 could give me a review of how level 2 is measuring up.
