  1. Thank you everyone for sharing. I am torn between Biblioplan or TRISMS. I love that TRISMS is so easy to customize. I already own IEW. And my children who aren't used to such academic rigors as TRISMS puts forth could divide up the work between them. Share the work load-help each other out. One concern is the level of the lit excerpts and the fact that there is so much research that I'm wondering if it will become monotonous to fill out these forms each week. I've never seen it represented at any convention I've been to so have never been able to look at it other than the sample on their website. I would love to be able to see what the lit excerpts look like, etc. It would be nice if they could share the first couple of units of each level like Tapestry of Grace or Biblioplan does. That way you could actually try it out or at least see it to get a better feel for it. I have researched this our last two school years but then opted not because I don't know enough about it. Thanks again, Tracy
  2. Thank you 1togo. very helpful. would love to hear from others if there's anyone else out there who has used it. Thanks, Tracy
  3. likes? Dislikes? I'm thinking of using this with my 3 high school age kids. thanks,
  4. Oh my goodness! This looks perfect! Thank you! THank you! I have the Singapore workbooks in the back of my mind for later in case we need them. Saw them at the bookstore the other day. I was just hoping to not spend money on word problems for the time being. So the website you recommended looks awesome! :001_smile: Thanks again!
  5. I can't find the original post from the search I did, but if I remember right this is what I did. Locate the thread on the For Sale/Swap board where the item was listed. You will need to copy the URL to that thread. (right click and select copy) Next, click on the seller's name (from that same page) and go to their profile. Then, click "view all feedbacks for" and then click "submit feedback for" then you paste the URL in the box. You will see a place to leave comments. Hope that works for you.
  6. I am looking for an online source for word problems for my middle school kids. Preferably fraction/decimal word problems. They can do computations but when given word problems they really struggle. I would love to find a source where I could just print out some pages of word problems for them to work on throughout the week. Does anyone have a good source? I would also love to find some mindbender type problems like they have in some of the critical thinking type books or Math for Smarty Pants. Any online source for those types of problems? Thanks so much!
  7. Nevermind, I figured it out by reading previous threads. THanks!
  8. I can't seem to figure out how to leave feedback for a transaction here on these boards. I know I've done it in the past but I can't for the life of me figure it out now. Thanks!
  9. Thank you ladies. I will look into that. The price is definitely good. Anyone else have experience w Wordsmith Craftsman or Writing Strands Expository writing?
  10. Has anyone used these two books? Would you recommend Wordsmith Craftsman or Writing Strands Writing Expositions for teaching the essay? I own Craftsman but have never seen Writing Strands Writing Expositions. Thanks!
  11. Great thread. Thank you! I loved hearing what your sons thoughts were on what he thought was the most helpful things to know. It has made me rethink what I was planning to do. :)
  12. Wondering if anyone could compare these two for me. I already own Wordsmith Craftsman but I see that Bravewriter's Help for High School is half price this saturday. I own the Writer's Jungle so I am familiar with the Bravewriter philosophy and I love it. Do you think Wordsmith will do the same thing? thank you!
  13. Has anyone used Wordsmith Craftsman to teach essay writing? If so how do you feel it worked for you? Do you wish you would have used something different? Pros and cons? Thanks so much!
