  1. I was referring to the scientists quoted within the article. Do we have proof of the wet market theory? I don't think so. Again, I am just saying with the enormity of this virus and the devastating results we should want to know for certain how this virus came about and what can be done to prevent a future similar occurrence. As for what changes would need to be made would depend what the investigation revealed as the cause.
  2. Well now that over 3 million people are dead from Covid-19, I would think it would behoove us all to find out how this virus came about. If it escaped from this lab, as suggested by more and more scientists, we should want to get to the bottom of how this happened and what measures need to be taken to prevent this from happening ever again. I have not suggested the Chinese people are to blame in any way. To just accept it as oh well shit happens seems extremely negligent and an insurance of it happening again.
  3. Perhaps. If that's the case how did this happen?: French virologist Luc Montagnier, a Nobel Prize recipient, arrived at the same conclusion a year ago. He says Covid-19’s genetics reveal “manipulation.” “Someone added sequences,” he said. “It’s the work of professionals, of molecular biologists…a very meticulous work.”
  4. After reading The Hot Zone several years ago I thought it was just a matter of time before a viral pandemic would result from a leak from one of these labs. Is that what happened this time? I have suspected that to be the case from the beginning. The wet market story just doesn't hold up IMO. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2021/04/27/sharyl_attkisson_investigates_covid_19.html
  5. It's complicated by capacity limits as well. A lot of servers don't want to come back/give up unemployment when restaurants are not allowed to be fully opened yet. They are unsure if they can make the money they did prior to the pandemic. One of my children was in the service industry when the shut down began. They were able to draw unemployment but later chose to take another FT job and decline the unemployment. Many of their peers are continuing to draw unemployment. Some don't want to gamble being able to make enough while others are just choosing the easier route. My child is quitting their current job to return to their former employer in hopes things will soon return to normal enough to make enough money to get by. It's more of a hours/lifestyle/job enjoyment/loyalty to employer choice for them. While shopping in a big box store yesterday the cashier remarked that they can't get any help. She said they had had one new hire that rather than come in to work on their first day they came in and said they had gotten a letter saying they qualified for $18,000 more in unemployment so no thanks. I know the letter about $18k is true because my child also received this letter even though they had already been working FT for many months. Is it possible for a person to draw a lesser amount of unemployment while returning to these limited capacity settings? I don't know the ins and outs of unemployment. I am very grateful it was available for my child when the shutdown began. And I can understand why some would choose to stay home until they absolutely have to return but how long can these small business owners hang on with no workers? The big boxes will likely be fine. It's the small business owners I worry about.
  6. I seem to occupy a lot of space in your head. I rarely post on this board and yet you have chosen to assign certain motivations and "agendas" to me from the handful of posts I have made. It seems to me that when anyone posts anything that doesn't line up with your opinion/agenda you seek to vilify the poster to serve your own agenda. That's the "definite pattern/practice through multiple threads" I have observed.
  7. Sorry to disappoint. As I already posted, not a "longtimer back under cover".
  8. Not sure why that matters. I used to read/post on this board several years ago. The board at that time was certainly more open minded. I don't think SWB ever intended for the Well Trained Mind to become the Well Indoctrinated Mind as it seems to have devolved into.
  9. Facts matter. I guess when you don't like the facts you resort to name calling and play the "racist card".
  10. Some of you on another thread have said that the police officer that shot an unarmed woman climbing through the window of the Capital Building was completely justified in shooting her in the neck and killing her. On this thread you are now questioning the necessity of the officer shooting a woman trying to stab another woman. It is really unbelievable! I wonder what the girl in pink thinks. Oh and we do already know the police officers identity. BLM activist Bree Newsome has said about this incident that "Teenagers have been having fights including fights involving knives for eons. We do not need police to address these situations." Valarie Jarrett has issued a similar statement about knife fights and teenagers. So in the future, according to these ladies the police should not respond to knife fight reports, maybe just call a social worker.
  11. Armed with what? Jill Sanborn, assistant director of the FBI’s counterterrorism division, told a Senate committee that the FBI did not recover any guns at the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and that only one shot was fired that day. An unarmed young woman was shot in the neck and killed.
  12. Agreed, heart attacks, strokes, & drug overdoses, are horrible things. Only one person was killed at the Capital Building that day, her name was Ashli Babbitt. The MSM just refuses to tell the truth about it cause it doesn't fit their narrative. https://greenwald.substack.com/p/the-media-lied-repeatedly-about-officer
  13. It has nothing to do with "her lily white complexion". She had done nothing to deserve being shot with no warning. The young man in the traffic stop had not either. He was at least given a verbal warning that he would be tasered. Ashli got nothing but a bullet. I know it does not fit the MSM narrative but police officers shoot white people too. BTW the officer (whose identity is still being protected) that shot Ashli is black. Does that matter? No, it is another incident of a police officer over reacting. But does the fact that he is black play a part in his identity being protected since it does not fit the MSM narrative? https://johnmcwhorter.substack.com/p/the-victorians-had-to-accept-darwin
  14. You are right, it is their job and there have been incidents when people have been shot even when complying, but statistically those that comply are likely to have a better outcome.
  15. Not only was the officer who shot Ashli Babbitt not charged for shooting an unarmed woman, with no verbal warning, we still don't even know this officer's identity. You believe her shooting was justifiable "by the threat she posed", what was the threat?
  16. A few thoughts about this issue: Expired tags: How about we move to sending a ticket in the mail for this. They've got the plate number so they know who owns the vehicle. Safer for everyone involved. There should be a huge difference in the location of the taser and the gun. Perhaps having a chest holster for the taser? A different grip and definitely a different color for the taser, like chartreuse. The main thing that many of these incidents have in common is resisting arrest. They start out being compliant and for whatever reason they decide to resist and the situation escalates from there. i really don't understand why this keeps happening. Comply, go to jail if that's the result, but remain within the law and keep your life. Don't escalate the situation. Being a police officer is a thankless, low paying, and dangerous job. They want to go home to their families at night too. In this case the warrant was for first degree aggravated robbery, which is a felony. The warrant went to the wrong address. Seems to me that if there is no response from a mailed warrant a home visit should result. https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-daunte-wright-arrest-warrant-1583535
  17. Scarlet, speaking as someone who has lived a similar experience, I think your sister knows this is hurtful for you and knows that you should have been given 50% ownership of the house. If she wants to be fair with you and wants to back up all of her talk over the years of understanding your mistreatment by your father she would allow the step mother to live in the home until her death and then sell and split the proceeds with you. If this is the resentment you are feeling, I think you need to be honest with your sister. If she does not understand your hurt and offer to split the proceeds with you, you will have your answer as to who your sister truly is and you can move on. It is easy to talk the talk but now the ball is in her court to do the right thing. No she cannot correct your father's failure, but she can treat you as he should have treated you by splitting the inheritance with you.
  18. IMO, yes. I am a health care worker and have taken care of numerous covid-19 patients. I have not had the vaccine nor have I had covid. I am tested every week and have had the antibody test. I do have a strong immune system but I think the vitamin and supplements are a big part of that.
  19. My boss had a similar reaction as your mom. She was sent to the ED where she was advised not to take the 2nd shot. I would think your mom should notify her MD of this reaction before receiving the 2nd shot.
  20. Ameribag or Healthy Back bag large size may be bigger than Kavu
  21. Ok, this is obviously not medical advice...when I was in nursing school a classmate told me that his mother-in-law treated her RLS by putting a fresh bar of regular Dial soap between the sheets at the foot of her bed. I have told a co-worker with RLS of this remedy and she said that it has helped her. Your results may vary.
  22. These might be what you are looking for. I have not tried them myself. https://www.amazon.com/Fruit-Loom-Coolblend-Panties-Assorted/dp/B00GLNXC28/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=coolmax+underwear&qid=1605370687&sr=8-2
  23. 2 Ch 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
  24. Required me to reuse PPE and suggested that I and coworkers should eat outside (in the heat and possible rain storm) so as not to remove face mask & shield inside the faciity are the main things that come to mind...but that's what healthcare workers get for being "essential" !
