  1. We did song school latin on and off in 4th and we're going to start it again in 6th. I was going to wait until later but he asked to start it again.
  2. We're doing summer school this year but before we start we're taking 2 weeks off to do absolutely nothing. I find the break does all of us some good. Then we'll start back with math and LA. I won't sweat it if certain things don't get done, and we're only doing half days so there's plenty of free time for the kiddies to play.
  3. 1. Reading and more reading for both my ds' 2. IEW ATF&F - love it we're going to continue with it in the summer 3. Videos, documentaries, and brainpop for unhappy baby times 4. set schedule so older ds could work more independently 5. Mommy down time
  4. We did saxon 3 and 5/4 and I made the switch this year to Singapore and MM. We're heading back to Saxon for next and will start 7/6. I'm already using 1 with my preschooler. I thought ds needed as switch but realized he needed me to work with him more. I plan on sticking with it. I love it, and never stick to the script in the early years, I just use it as a guide.
  5. Not crazy at all, I have a 6 month old and we are very done. 3 is a great number. Congratulations!!!
  6. I'm burnt to a crisp, we still have 2 more weeks left. I'm taking a 2 week break but then we'll start up math, writing and reading. I would love to take a longer one but with the new baby this year we just have to keep going. :grouphug:
  7. I love love love it, most days and the days I don't I plow right through it. It is the best option for my oldest. We'll continue as long as he wants to and right now he says he wants to be homeschooled forever.
  8. If it's just for letter and number practice, I use online printouts and place the sheet into a sheet protector and have my ds use a dry erase marker. I also have this board. He can practice tracing activities, mazes, and connect the dots.
  9. Mine's up, school's still in session here.
  10. foam stickers or regular stickers dry erase letter or number books play dough bingo dabbers + paper clothes pins numbers game
  11. My boys are 6 years apart and I'm keep everything because it's such a pain to buy things used since I'm in Canada, shipping is a killer.
  12. A to Z Mysteries for my ds then he moved onto MTH.
  13. Saxon 76 supplementing w/MM WWS Winston grammar Spelling power BFSU SOTW 4 L'Art de Lire Getting started with latin MTM
  14. I will spend $300 6th grade and K, I use pdfs where possible since I'm in Canada and shipping is killer. We use the library for all our reading books so that money is mainly for curriculum and a subscription to brainpop and discovery streaming. I also put together our own science.
  15. I also find that taking dictation passages from their independent reading books help as well because they may be more familiar with the story or a funny passage from a favourite book. ds always seems to do better with those dictation then from a random book/story. He's in 5th grade and was only able to do WWE3 last year. The passages are quite long.
  16. We'll take a 2 week break at the start of July and then continue with math and reading, if we get anything else done it would be nice but I'm not planning for it. I usually feel pretty burnt out by the end of the year and enjoy the break from our regular schedule.
  17. Thanks for posting these, I just reformatted my computer and lost all my bookmarks. 1plus1plus1equals1.net
  18. We've adjusted to dh's schedule, our school doesn't start until 2pm since that's when he leaves. We're all night owls and that's fine. I have a 3 month old and can feel your frustration but it has to get done. This works for us, hopefully you'll find what works for you. There's no way we could ignore dh while he's home, if he's home there's no school work getting done.
  19. Thanks for the list I missed some of those threads.
  20. We use Singapore but pull out MM to cement certain topics or for more practice 4 days a week and do LOF on the fifth day.
