  1. I've never had any issues with the downloadable products. You could also purchase from another retailer that carries her products like The Learning House.
  2. You mean the shower thing doesn't get better with teens? He whines and complains each time I tell him it's time to take a shower. I will double check on how he's cleaning himself, he usually needs detailed instructions on everything ie teeth brushing.
  3. I just had to give him a lesson on how to use deodorant. I noticed he had been changing his shirts more often, I ask what happened did he spill something on them and he said they smelled, lol. I don't know if I should be happy or if I should start crying, my baby is growing up.
  4. For my fifth grader we're using: MCT grammar town Spelling power WWE English from the roots up Singapore math and math mammoth Story of the world 3 L'art de lire Meet the masters My ds is also working on a North American Indian lapbook and reading the kids book of Aboriginal peoples. He does written narrations with each SOTW chapter and geography with the mapwork. We're in ontario as well outside the GTA.
  5. Each summer I say we're going to continue with several subjects and I never do because I feel so burnt out. This summer we'll continue with math because it's so hard to start back up in the fall, writing, and reading. Whatever else I get done will just be extra. I'd like to do some art and science experiments but won't stress about. We take two weeks off at the start of July and then we'll start again. I had a baby this year so we had quite a bit of time off already.
  6. We did school as usual right up to the week before baby was born, Christmas eve, and then took a month off completely. After the new year, ds played online math games and watched science videos. After the month off, we started with math and reading and slowly eased our way back.
  7. Yes their customer service is atrocious. Just keep trying to contact them, I usually get a response after several tries. I do love their program though but I usually use the electronic format.
  8. :iagree: After my ds used dance mat, he went onto typing web which is great. There are some fun games here as well.
  9. I'm using Singapore with my VSL, I like how they explain things. When we need to slow down I use MM for the specific topic, it's really good at breaking things down step by step. We started out with MUS but it was too repetitive for my ds.
  10. I used chemistry this year with my 5th grader and thought it was great at first. We got halfway through the program and I felt it was getting too repetitive. Read a section, write definitions/narration, then an experiment and then written report. We're now using Ellen McHenry's Elements for a change of pace. We used the lapbook instead of the student workbook because ds is really into lapbooks but I thought the quality of the pics was not worth printing after the elements section.
  11. I had to look up what a mojito was and quite frankly that does sound like a good idea, right about now.
  12. oh my, you must have my VSL son, we have the same issue here almost every single day :grouphug:. There's no screen time here until all the work is completed, which motivates him pretty well. I have a cut off time if he goes past it, no screen time, but there's plenty of time to complete everything.
  13. For early elementary enchanted learning has lots of printouts.
  14. How to teach art to children Handbook of nature study Logic lollipop
  15. Mine's up since I'm up with the baby.
  16. I'm in, I always look for everything I need used and everything else I get from book depository. All I have left to purchase for next year is Writing with skill, Singapore math 5B, and SOTW4. I'm set for everything else since I went a little curriculum crazy last year.
  17. I'm finishing my masters and homeschooled my ds from 2nd grade and on. I was at school full-time in the beginning and worked with him in the evenings when I came home and weekends because that's when hubby worked. Later on, I worked with him in the mornings and went to school myself in the afternoons/evenings. My hubby was home during the day so he was able to watch the kids, but he didn't do any teaching. I would leave things for him to work on that I knew he could do independently, ie reading or written narrations and I'd check everything once I was home.
  18. WWS Winston grammar??? HTTS Singapore math and LOF decimals BFSU II SOTW 4 L'art de lire 4 Minimus/GSWL Meet the masters
  19. Math, reading, and writing are always completed daily here.
  20. If they got side A, I didn't have him do side B. It seemed so repetitive.
  21. We're not changing anything, I'm pretty happy with everything we're using in my signature. We're on an extended break because of the new baby but I'm looking forward to getting back to a normal routine, somewhat.
  22. Both my dh and ds have read all the comics as well. Ds is very excited about seeing the movie.
