purpleowl Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 Happy Tuesday! These threads are for those who'd like accountability and encouragement in doing intentional daily movement. Anyone may join in at any time! 1 Quote
Jenny in Florida Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 Walked 4.8K for the Winter Warmup, making up for yesterday's slightly shortened walk. Did my daily PT exercises. Did a very gentle 20-minute Pahla B. workout with weights as today's arm work. As always, I will take another walk later in the day to count towards the Year of the Ox challenge and meet my daily step goal. 5 Quote
Harriet Vane Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 Though low on sleep, I started off right with a half hour strength training. It's good to have it taken care of first thing. 4 Quote
Melissa Louise Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 30 min yoga. I go back to work in a weeks time, and I need to work out a way to continue near daily yoga + walking, because it makes such a huge difference to my happiness. 4 Quote
sbgrace Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 (edited) I did a boosted walk at home--I got interrupted twice and so I did some rewinding and re-doing. I did pilates (legs) and then tried 30 minutes of yoga today, then 15 or so minutes of tai chi. Edited January 19, 2021 by sbgrace 4 Quote
Wheres Toto Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 45 minutes yoga, 7,294 steps (so far). 5 Quote
purpleowl Posted January 19, 2021 Author Posted January 19, 2021 I had an appointment this morning so couldn't walk then, but did 4.1 miles this afternoon, plus arm work. 4 Quote
ktgrok Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 30 minutes of PT, and then later I did a 25 minute DDPY workout. What is crazy is that workout used to kick my rear end and leave my gasping for air. Today it was like, "meh, that's not so hard." CRAZY! (it was a Haydn workout, for those that do DDPY) 4 Quote
KathyBC Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 20 minute bodyweight circuit. I feel unmoored if I don't get this one done every week. 3 Quote

purpleowl Posted January 20, 2021 Author Posted January 20, 2021 3 hours ago, Melissa Louise said: May I ask, what do you do for arm work? Not a whole lot, haha! I have a pair of 5-lb weights. I do a few different things with them, alternating which ones I do on different days, but I don't know all the names. 😄 Bicep curls is one. One is where I hold the weight straight up and bend at the elbow so the weight comes behind me near my shoulder, then back up straight. For another one I bend my elbows so my arms make an L shape and hold them up parallel to the floor, then curve inward so the weights meet in front of my stomach, then back up to parallel with the floor. One I hold the weights in front of my chest, then lift straight up, then back down. There are a couple more things I've tried before but those are the main ones. I'm sorry if I'm no good at describing them. 😂 Whichever ones I do on a given day, I try to do 3 sets of 10 (for each arm, where applicable). Like I said, it's not a lot, but it is a little something to work those muscles, which I want to do since my cardio mainly uses leg muscles. 1 Quote
