Left for base at 0600.  Sent daughter to swim, while I eat breakfast.

First Aid/CPR course I am not awake enough for yet starts in an hour.

Go home after class... to discover the kitchen a disaster.  Piles of clean laundry still stacked in baskets,  and no school work completed while I was gone.  Yell for the kids to do their chores, and go hide in my room with my dog until I fall asleep, and deal with all of the above...tomorrow.

Happy Wednesday!

Yesterday evening was stressful until we were finally sitting in our seats in the stadium.  Then I was like "now I can relax."  But toward the end of the game, one of the kids had an asthma attack.  She didn't have her inhaler.  I have never actually had to deal with an asthma attack before.  Luckily, there was a first aid station nearby and they hooked her up to a nebulizer.  This delayed my getting the kids home until 10:30-11:30, on a school night.  Oops.  Also there were some tears about some girl/boy drama to which I was not privy.  I was not expecting tears on our outing, but these were also bonding moments, so I guess it was good in the big picture.  My kids are blessed to have some nice friends.  (They do a LOT of screaming though!)

So today I need to catch up on the work I was too tired to remember last night.

(Also our house guest left early this morning, so that will be another load off my mind.  To be able to bang around in my own house, call my kids names (like "butt cheek"), leave the table messy, and get my coffee without taking a shower first ... priceless.)

Done:

  • Kid 1 up at 5:30 to do homework.
  • Kid 2 up at 7.
  • Made breakfast, then reviewed homework, made corrections.
  • Kids had to run for the bus stop because I did not realize our kitchen clock is slow.  (Usually it's fast.)
  • Coffee!  Also chocolate!
  • Took out the garbage, retrieved & processed the mail.
  • Cleaned kitchen, bathrooms, and some clutter.
  • Cleaned the van and part of the garage.
  • Several texts and a facebook post about personal / kid plans.
  • Caught up on emails, news, social media.

To do:

  • Lots of work!  Deadlines are rapidly approaching.
  • Fed-Ex stop.
  • A little exercise, reading, maybe a load of laundry.
  • Bills, filing, calendar.
  • Schedule appointments - chiro for me, dental for all 3 of us.  I can't believe it's already 3 months into the year!
  • 1 kid has horse riding - other kid is taking the night off to study.
  • I should probably cook dinner tonight.  We have eaten out for the whole past week.
  • Help kids with homework.
  • Read-aloud.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Good morning!

Our first crocus is blooming this morning, and the barn swallows are busy building their nest on our porch like they do every year. Spring has definitely arrived!

I've been busy tackling all morning. Done so far:

  • fed horses, dogs, cats, dh
  • got laundry going for the day
  • placed an Amazon order
  • sorted through emails
  • got a hay delivery
  • talked to both boys
  • got dd up and moving and started on schoolwork
  • talked over legal stuff with dh (in the continuing saga of his crazy family, we are having to file for guardianship of his dad, who has dementia and is in a very bad living situation...ugh)

Still to do:

  • make two kinds of muffins (pumpkin & banana)
  • groom horses & brush dogs
  • find a few new recipes to try next week
  • coffee date w/dh this afternoon
  • read
  • repot a couple cacti
  • do a little cleaning - vacuum and magic eraser smudgy spots on walls
  • dd has Model UN & a violin lesson
  • dinner: rosti with veg. breakfast sausage

Morning, all!  I think I'm having a reaction to something, red and itchy, welty hives on stomach and legs.  Called dr office, didn't seem too concerned.  Off to buy Benadryl and some other staples, and maybe some dye free laundry soap for now.  Yuck.

To do:

CVS

groceries for my mom, visit

home to read, relax, etc.

focus on not scratching...:)

Have a great day!

Well, despite a relatively strong start, today has been largely a bust.

I got a bad headache, probably due to drinking less coffee than I've become used to.

Also, I my kitchen sink drain is completely blocked.  I tried for a long time to un-block it, but no dice.  I called the plumber, and hope he can come tomorrow.  Not having a kitchen sink sucks in so many ways.  Having a house that smells like Drano isn't much better.

I don't think I did any "work" work so far.  Of course the night is still young - if this headache goes away, I could get some out overnight.

The kids are still doing their homework.  I hope they go to bed at a decent hour tonight.
