sassenach
Our tree has produced an abundance of figs this year. This is my second season with this tree so I don't have any go-to recipes, yet. Do you have a favorite (or any) fig recipe?

YaelAldrich
I made a fig and tomato salad with slivers of red onion, coarsely chopped parsley, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, and extra virgin olive oil. My husband was ecstatic! ETA: I did add glazed pecans but I think it would be good with plain roasted ones as well. ScoutTN
Ooh, we made a recipe with fresh figs and goat cheese drizzled with honey last year. When I find it, I'll post it for you. Yummmmm!

I keep trying to grow figs but they are a zone stretch here and keep dying back in the winter. They regrow from the roots and I actually have a few figs hanging on the branches but don't know if they will ripen before frost hits us. nhtwins
One of our favorite tapas is sausages with dried figs. https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/grilled-pork-sausages-with-spiced-figs-239842 The vinegar sauce is a little overwhelming when you cook it, but then it mellows out as you reduce it. We also love to make fig tarts (with almond cream) and fig flans (recipe from Williams and Sonoma).
KrissiK
Oh, I love figs!! One of my favorite memories of my grandma’s house is standing there eating figs fresh from the tree. I would suggest making jam!! And giving them away at Christmas time with a little ribbon around the top.
