snowbeltmom
The trailer for the next season has been released: My middle's college has family weekend on the release date. Would it be terrible to go to family weekend but stay holed up in the dorm room binging on Stranger Things?
mom31257
I can't wait!!! I don't think it would be terrible if that's what you all want to do.

Seasider
Tuesday. Release date of October 31, right? The poor trick-or-treaters are going to be sadly neglected here that day. DD tells me the full season will be released that day. Mar-a-thooooooooon!
Joker
They changed the release date to 10/27.

Liz CA
Never heard of it but we need a new Netflix series or something to watch. As soon as my workload lightens I want to just sit in a chair and breathe...:) Can someone give a quick synopsis without giving it all away? Greta
Totally O/T but in other trailer news Star Trek: Discovery will also be on Netflix. It's going to be a great fall season! Please correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding was that it will be available on Netflix only in certain countries, and neither the US nor Canada are among those countries (but I think the UK is). snowbeltmom
It's the 27th now. I've been scouring the net trying to find an Eleven dress for dd. She loves to be scared and this show is just enough for her. Totally O/T but in other trailer news Star Trek: Discovery will also be on Netflix. It's going to be a great fall season! A combo of all the 80's sci-fi/horror. Think of Stand by Me with Stephan King and Stephan Spielberg combining to make a group of boys face some sci-fi/supernatural/horror story. Don't forget the Eggos to go along with the dress.
6packofun
It's the 27th now. I've been scouring the net trying to find an Eleven dress for dd. She loves to be scared and this show is just enough for her. My dd cosplayed as Eleven earlier this year. We just found a cheap white dress on clearance at Old Navy and dyed it! (She shaved her head for charity so that also helped! LOL) Edited July 23, 2017 by 6packofun

GailV
Never heard of it but we need a new Netflix series or something to watch. As soon as my workload lightens I want to just sit in a chair and breathe... :) Can someone give a quick synopsis without giving it all away? Add to what Plum Crazy said, it's really pretty spot on for the 80s in Indiana. I had no idea that was the setting when we started watching, and then realized they were playing Dungeons and Dragons .... I went to high school in Indiana in that era, and a friend had cleidocranial dysplasia* in her family. It was mind blowing to watch the show and feel like, "hello, this is your life, if your life had been swirled with Goonies/E.T./Carrie/etc." I have no idea what it would be like for people who don't have that history. It's probably more fun if you've watched a lot of sci fi, thriller, and horror movies so you can catch the references. It would help make up for the fact that you won't have me there yelling things like, "OMG, Mike had that exact car!" at random intervals. Edited to add -- not that this is a major plot point, but simply means I knew kids who looked very much like Gaten Matarazzo, including hair color and style. Joker
Awww man. I was so excited to see Netflix logo at the bottom of the screen. Why do they have to make it so complicated?! My understanding is if you have CBS All Access (which is just as easy to sign up for as Netflix) you can watch it here. I don't think it will be available on Netflix here, though. snowbeltmom
My kids are Stephen King fans. They see a lot of Stephen King influences in the plot, especially the short novella the Mist. I read a lot of Stephen King growing up, but I don't remember that one. D&D was big in my area growing up as well. My husband has a ton of D&D books. He and my kids have played D&D together for years.
