I loved that show. My cousin and I (who are only a few weeks apart but not identical lol) used to act out the mirror scene of the opening to the show. The theme song is one I still can sing. Years later when I found out how horribly she was treated during those years I almost felt guilty for loving the show so much and wanting to be like Patty Lane.

From memory:

Kathy adores the minuet

The Ballet Russe and crepes suzette,

But Patty loves to rock and roll.

A hot-dog makes her lose control.

What a crazy pair!

But there're cousins,

Identical cousins,

All the way

The xxxx alike

They walk alike,

At time they even talk alike,

You can lose you mind,

When cousins are two of a kind.

I may have goofed a few lines, but what's it been, almost 50 years?

Bill

Another great actress gone. :-(  I remember the movie about her battle with bipolar disease and there's a lesser known made for tv movie called Before and After about three friends who struggled with weight issues.  In fact I was thrilled to have found that one on Youtube last year.  I know I saw her in many other shows, but those are the stand outs for me.  RIP Patty.

Also from memory

Meet Cathy who's lived most everywhere

From Zanzibar to Barclay Square

But Patty's only seen the sights

A girl can see from Brooklyn Heights

What a crazy pair!

But they're cousins

Identical cousins all the way

One pair of matching book ends

Different as night and day.

50 years? How is that possible?   :svengo:

Especially as Helen Keller. What a great job she did in the original  movie. My mom and I always had a running joke between us:  "Waaaaaa!" (with all due respect... But if you saw the movie, you would know where that line came from.) I was always mesmerized by that  movie. Maybe I got my influence to be a special needs teacher from that early exposure!  She was a local in the next town over as well, CDA, ID and has been in plays in the area in the last 2 decades. 69 is young. May the angels wrap her in their loving arms...
