Halcyon
I know of Gotham Writers Workshop, and that's the one I will most likely be signing up for, but wondered if the Hive knew of any other reputable online creative writing classes. Thank yoU!
unsinkable
No advice but I googled Gotham WW and now I am getting ads by them to save $40 with code SAVE40. Maybe it'll save you a bit.

CindyH in NC
Thanks for bringing this up. I hadn't heard of this before, but from looking at the website and samples I think my teen dd will love this for the summer. I may try one myself soon, so please let us know what you think of the class. Cindy
Jilly
UCLA Extension has an online writer's program. It is a little more expensive, but I have heard wonderful things about their classes and programs.

heartosunshine
I am going to take the next Fiction one with Carter sickels. It starts on June 16. Wanna join me?? I may just do that!! I need to think about it, though, cause I've got a million things going on. But, really, I've been wanting to take one of their classes for 15 years but haven't because there's ALWAYS a million things going on. Maybe I should just go for it! :D
Halcyon
Let me know if you end up taking it! They just updated their website yesterday, and there was trouble paying online, just as a heads up. I ended up calling and registering over the phone.
kroe1
I am not a writer at all, but when DD did One Year Adventure Novel, I added it to my bucket list of wishful thinking. I want to do that one.
Robin M
Both crstarlette and I are taking writing classes and workshops through writers village university. It's $99 for the first year, then $66 per year afterwords. All the classes are free and you can take as many as you want. They are peer lead and self study. Bob just started a new mfa certificate program this year and I'm helping to moderate and facilitate. The only bummer is it isn't accredited so it's purely for your own edification. I'm learning so much and my writing has vastly improved. Plus it is fun. I think I do better with deadlines.
hornblower
Romance Writers of America have many classes but most (but not all) are limited to members. There used to be a monthly list of workshops that someone maintained & you could tell which were open to the public. I'll see if i can find & post it later.Writer U is also good https://writeruniv.wordpress.com/
madteaparty
UCLA Extension has an online writer's program. It is a little more expensive, but I have heard wonderful things about their classes and programs. Thanks for this! Do you know whether it is a fairly rigorous program? I've taken the random Gotham-like class in NYC they vary so much in quality (even with the same teacher!). Ideally I'd love a low residency MFA but have neither the time not funds at the moment and won't for a couple years.
