Mom-ninja.
I'd like to buy one for myself and for my mil for her b-day. Have one you love?
Erica in OR
I do. It's called a Crock-Pot. :) I use this recipe: http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2008/10/you-can-make-yogurt-in-your-crockpot.html. Not a lot of help with your quest, but I like the idea of a kitchen tool having more than one use if possible. Erica in OR

skimomma
I use a picnic cooler.
Amira
I've been using a Yogourmet for more than 10 years and I love it. We eat a lot of yogurt so it's nice to make two liters at a time.
La Condessa
I use my home-made incubator. (Old small sized cooler with a light bulb hooked up to $5 thermostat). Works awesome--I just can't make yogurt for three weeks at a time when I have a hatch going. B)
guilfordlake
Fool-proof: http://www.amazon.com/Euro-Cuisine-YM80-Yogurt-Maker/dp/B000EX16RY I have the same one and am very happy with it. Just mix, pour, and walk away.

shukriyya
I use a dehydrator. Works great! If you have one of those I'd go that route.
milovany
Another crockpot user here, too. I didn't need another "thing" in the kitchen when something I already had does the trick just fine (more than "just fine," actually). I make a gallon at a time. There's a thread here that talks about getting thick homemade yogurt.
Mom-ninja.
Fool-proof: http://www.amazon.com/Euro-Cuisine-YM80-Yogurt-Maker/dp/B000EX16RY I have the same one and am very happy with it. Just mix, pour, and walk away. This is the one I was looking at. I like the idea of mix, pour, and walk away. For my mil it would be perfect. I've been using a Yogourmet for more than 10 years and I love it. We eat a lot of yogurt so it's nice to make two liters at a time. I'll look at that one too. Thanks. I do not own a crock pot, and after reading how to make yogurt in a crock pot I decided I would rather just have a yogurt maker.
I talk to the trees
We have this one, and love it. I didn't think I would like having the little jars at first, but they are actually quite convenient for packed lunches. They also allow everyone to make their own favorite flavor with each batch. Amira
I use my crockpot to heat the milk and then I pour the cooled milk into the yogurt maker, but I don't like to make the yogurt in the crockpot because then I have to transfer it to another container since I don't want to store the crock full of yogurt in the fridge. Heating the milk in the crockpot takes longer, but I don't have to watch or stir it at all.
