Earliest fetal movement you can feel

I am always hesitant to hear super early dates, but I know it does happen. My earliest quickening was with my oldest son (who has always been crazy strong) at about 12 wks. Latest as around 18-20 wks with anterior placentas.

Mine was 12 weeks too. Then we got super lucky and dh was able to feel dd move at 13 weeks. She must have been doing cartwheels in there!

I'm at 14 weeks and I'm pretty sure I've felt the baby a couple of times this week.

With one of my babies, I felt it around 13 or 14 weeks I think. I just remember the doctor telling me that was impossible and that I had gas. I didn't like that man.

With my youngest, it was around 12-13 weeks. Surprised the begezus out of me.

With my first, I was told it had to be gas. Then, I was kicked during an ultrasound and saw and felt it at the same time. It wasn't gas. I was about 12 weeks at the time. I had been feeling flutters for about a week that felt exactly the same as that kick. I felt all my babies really early. (I was also extremely thin which might have contributed?)

I am at 13 weeks and I could swear I felt distinct flutters twice this week! I thought I must be going crazy:). Glad to know I am either a) not crazy about the flutters or b) in great company from the Hive!

I didn't feel DS move until about a week before he was born, which would have been 6 weeks before his actual due date.  He was a pretty chill baby.  :)

9 weeks with two of mine. It feels more like fish swimming at that point that kicks and jabs, which are usually around 12 weeks. This time, I have AP, so felt him early, then nothing for a long time. It was unsettling, but I was quite certain where my placenta was ( I can always tell), so I wasn't panicky.

with my second I know I felt it at 11 weeks. I thought I was crazy, but I kept feeling it as the pregnancy went along. It was a very distinctive feeling.

 

FWIW, my midwife didn't doubt when I asked if it was possible.

 

Ds2 was very active throughout the pregnancy, causing me to gasp out loud on occasion. He was born all wrapped up in his cord and we knew exactly why, lol!

With my first, I felt flutters at about 15 weeks.

 

2nd baby, at 13 weeks 5 days.  I actually wrote the date down because I was so surprised I could feel her so early!

I swore I felt a swish at 13 weeks.  And then didn't feel anything until about 20 weeks.  I had a retroverted uterus.  I think the 13 weeks was just a right place/right time fluke, but it can happen.

I felt my son fluttering around at 13 weeks. My twins I didn't feel until 15 or 16 weeks (and I didn't know there were two of them then).

 I felt all my babies really early. (I was also extremely thin which might have contributed?)

My midwife told me this. She said because I was so thin and didn't have a fat layer to buffer the feeling of movements was the reason that I could feel my babies really early. My first was 11 weeks, 2nd at 9 weeks, third at 8 weeks. The last one really shocked me. I was sitting on the bed, bending over to put on shoes (so I was pretty much bend in half with my chest touching my thighs) and I felt that very distinctive roll. It was like he moved because I squished him. Most people don't believe me, but that doesn't bother me. It's not my job to convince them. My midwife believed me. She also told me that she could very easily feel everything inside me. My GYN has told me the same thing.

8 weeks was the earliest but I felt all of them between 8 weeks and 12 weeks. I thought I was crazy with the 8 week one but he also did it during an ultrasound.

10 or 11 weeks. I thought it was just with my 3rd and 4th because I knew what I was feeling, but I looked back at the journal I kept with my first and found that it was the same with him.

 

With at least one of them, I went through a period of not feeling anything from about 15-18 weeks after feeling movement before that. Everything was fine. I suspect it was just positional.
