Lawana
I am so incredibly proud of dd. She accompanied the children's choir at church today and did a wonderful job. What makes it brag worthy, though, was what she overcame in order to do it: 2 years of being unable to play due to wrist injury. She started to play again in June of this year. First time accompanying. She has played solo extensively, but this was her first as accompanist. She only got the sheet music this past Wednesday. She played through the melody with the choir on Wed. but didn't attempt the accompaniment. The room the kids warmed up in this morning was supposed to have a keyboard, but did not. They got to run through the piece one time in the Sanctuary before the service, then it was the real deal. She was also playing handbells with the youth handbell choir, so dropped her bells at the end of the prelude, then scooted to the piano for the introit. She has severe anxiety issues, but has always been able to play her music without losing it. Again, I am just so proud and happy for her.
