EndOfOrdinary Posted April 14, 2014 Share Posted April 14, 2014 The only benefits which I currently know of are that it removes the need for parenthesis and as such can be used with some computer programming. However, very few people even know the terminology anymore. It is one of those pop-culture nerd references that defines you as old school. If your kid is truly "matey" it is a fun subject because it will endear him/her to older people who remember the dark ages of HP graphing calculators. boscopup Posted May 2, 2014 Share Posted May 2, 2014 HP uses rpn (both graphing and scientific). TI does not. I had a TI in high school. For college electrical engineering courses, I used an HP 48GX.
