Alicia64
Meaning is there a lot of s*x references, cussing, adult references? My boys are ten. I like the idea of the show: jobs that are hands-on, getting dirty like welding etc. But if the show is more appropriate for adults, we'll probably pass. BigMamaBird
He does drop an occasional OMG, d@mn and such, I believe they bleep, but it's been a while. He also occasionally makes innuendo, nothing I would have caught as a child. And he pretty much jokingly flirts with any and all women. It can be gag inducing, but that's a plus for a 10 year old boy.
Jayne J
Plus, you have to pick your episodes. The one about cleaning the sewer, fine. The one about inseminating bulls, ehhh...maybe too much innuendo to miss. That said, I tend to be a bit conservative about TV and I let mine watch it. ETA: Er, cows. Inseminating cows. Inseminating bulls would be...well, way dirtier.
ErinE
I let my kids watch it, although editing for content. We fast forward through certain segments

I think they've inseminated every conceivable animal, lol. Ita with the above.

I willNEVER forget the time I was on vacation with my parents and my ds who was 5. In the hotel room I crashed out and woke up to him intently watching the episode about collecting horse semen. I just pretended I was asleep. My parents never did realize what he was watching.
mommymilkies
Yes, there are obviously sex/reproduction related episodes. Otherwise, there is some crude humor and mild swearing, but nothing most of my kids have ever caught.
amazzie
The only thing I noticed was swearing, and enough that it bothered me. But I feel the same way about Myth Busters and dh has let ds watch tons of the Busters. He, meaning ds, actually hasn't started cussing like a sailor because of it. But he certainly knows the "vocab."
PachiSusan
We've watched it with our daughter since it started and she was very young. I never thought it was anything to worry about.
BigMamaBird
The one where he was at the farm where the cows were giving birth choked me up a bit. I think Mike Rowe got a little misty too.

skeeterbug
We enjoy it here. I agree, the occasional mild language and innuendo which goes right over my kids' heads. ;) ETA: This is also how I'd describe Mythbusters, another one we enjoy. Χάων
DS has watched it since he was 4. LOVES IT. I have no problem with anything on it.
Sharpie
My kids LOVE this show! Yes, there is the occasional language and I guess if you don't live on a farm, you'd think the breeding/collecting semen was too graphic. My kids roll with it as they've looked at it under the microscope and found it fascinating. All in a day's work around here. I personally love that is shows the vastness of the work force/jobs that are in this great world of ours. I do agree that Mike can be very flirty but not in a bad way, more silly. We love DJ and pretty much stopped watching Discovery channel when they cancelled it. If you haven't already tried Mythbusters then you should. Best show ever.
laundrycrisis
Our boys have been watching that show since they were very young. I've never seen anything there I thought they needed to be sheltered from. I'm more concerned about the things they pick up from watching Arthur than Dirty Jobs.
