Mrs Mungo
Seriously, the spiral bound editions hold up so much better than the regular paperback.
Cindy in FL.
I always appreciate the spiral bounds. My guys have been known to break a spine or two!
JudoMom
I've got all hardbacks, and they still look great :).

wintermom
I've never seen the spiral bound editions. They look like they'd be wonderful!
katilac
Wow, can't say that I do! We have a mix of hard and soft covers, and none of them look like that, lol.
Mrs Mungo
Wow, can't say that I do! We have a mix of hard and soft covers, and none of them look like that, lol. It's worth pointing out that my youngest (a 12 year old boy) reads them *all the time*. LOL
Belacqua
Our copy of Wheelock's Latin looks something like that. After four semesters of near-constant use, it's earned a rest. I now understand why the teacher recommended the hardcover (which I'd have bought had I not already owned the softcover). I'll bet we could have done some damage to SOTW, as well. Wish I'd known of it sooner.
LucyStoner
Yes. My son reads and rereads and all of our copies of SOTW end up totally bent out of shape as in your picture. This does not happen quite so much with most of the other books that he reads a lot. The kind of binding and paperback cover used seems to lend itself to this happening. If I'd known there were spiral bound ones I would have been all over them.
KrissiK
I do like spiral bound, but my biggest problem is.... how do you keep the back page on? All of my spiral bound things are missing the back page.
