Parrothead
Dd is now taller and heavier than me. Where would you suggest I look for an Easter dress for a 13 year old that is 5'8" and 150 pounds that isn't either too revealing or too matronly. Chris in VA
I don't know sizes very well--would you say she's in the 12-14 range? Is she bigger on the top, the middle or the bottom? (I, for example, carry weight in the tummy, so if there's elastic or it's not a set-in waist, I can wear something in a smaller size than I would if the waist is fitted.) Of course, you don't have to answer. I like some of the Shade dresses, and Dress Barn has some cute stuff. Also Kohl's, but most of their dresses are for skinnyminnies and too short for our tastes. This one is cute--a small sweater/cardi over it would look good.
wonderchica
Yup, definitely need a size here. I'm just slightly smaller than her- 5' 7" and 145 on a good day- and I wear a 6.

Depending on cut a 8 or 10 in ladies. She often borrows my clothes now.

sheryl
J.C. Penny's has had nice dresses sometimes. I would agree with JCP. Also, at least "try" Target and Kohls.
wonderchica
Do you have a Maurices? sgo95
I like JCP for dresses as well. How about this, this, this, or this with a shrug? I've usually been able to find several cute dresses there for very reasonable prices ($30-50).
Starr
Does TJMaxx have an online store? I'll have to look. No, we have so few stores here it's the one we favor. I'll look around on line.
Starr
http://www.loft.com/loft/department/LOFT-Apparel/catl00002 Loft has some bright colored dresses on sale, mixed in with the black. They fit my dd well. Scroll down through the sale dresses. They are an extra 50% off. Good luck. Eventually this gets easier.
