Bug's Mom Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 We're getting on a train later this week to go on vacation. Dd is totally into Harry Potter right now, so I've been gathering items to give to her on the train. I knit this bag to put them in. She's going to lose her mind. :tongue_smilie: Quote
Guest submarines Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Wow wow wow! She'll love it! Quote
Jayne J Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 That is gorgeous! Excellent job-- your daughter is sooo lucky!:hurray::hurray: Ok. You've got to tell me-- how hard was it? Say, for someone who has been knitting for years, made hats, socks, sweaters, gloves, scarves, shawls, and designed her own sweater, but has never done colorwork. I have been eyeballing that on Ravelry for months now. I am currently knitting my HP fan a Griffindor House Scarf and hat, but I'd love to top it off with the bag. Oh, and do you mind sharing your yarn and colorways? :D Gorgeous! Quote
applethyme Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 You did a great job knitting the bag. I love it! Quote
Bug's Mom Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 First of all, thanks for all of the wonderful things you all have said. Ok. It wasn't that hard, but I've done colorwork from about my 3rd knitting project, so.... I rushed through it a bit, so it's kind of puckered, but I know that she won't care. ;) I used Lion Brand Vanna's Choice in mustard and cranberry...which reminds me that I need to post it on my ravelry page. Bug's Mom Posted September 19, 2012 Author Posted September 19, 2012 That is amazing! :001_wub: Do you have a pattern or a graph? Thanks. Here's a link to the pattern on Ravelry. There are charts for all 4 houses. I did the strap differently and didn't add fringe on the bottom. Quote
