dangermom
I need a bunch of famous girl characters for my kid's birthday party. They have to be well-known to 8yos, wholesome, and preferably somewhat diverse (not all white blondes). So, like maybe Minnie Mouse, Rapunzel, EVE from Wall-E, that sort of thing. Help me brainstorm, please! Just throw 'em out there.

Sharon H in IL
Let's try this again. DS accidentally logged me off and I lost my post. Rebecca Randall of "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm" - she of the intense eyes and brilliant mind. Sara Crewe of "A Little Princess" - an intense mind and florid imagination Mary Lennox of "The Secret Garden" - capable of deep concentration and friendship Kate Wetherall of "The Mysterious Benedict Society" - brave, quick, and acrobatic OK, that's all I can glean from my bookshelf at the moment. Good idea to find the heroines of our kids' literature!

kailuamom
I asked my soon-to-be 8 yo and she mentioned the American Girls (Kit is popular now b/c of the movie, but she wanted me to mention them all lol ), Laura & Mary Ingalls, Hermione, Mulan, Disney fairies -- plus some others already mentioned. She also said Gabriella from High School Musical and Mitchie from Camp Rock (the disney movie that just aired not too long ago)
