chickenpatty
Update on the Update: Baby is doing fine now! Yay! They're going to keep her for 48 hours, but everything appears to be normal. :) Update: they had to transfer the baby to another hospital b/c she is having some breathing & blood sugar (?) issues. Please pray! and the baby weighed THIRTEEN POUNDS!! And I thought my 9 & 10 pounders were big!! Edited June 8, 2012 by chickenpatty

chickenpatty
OMGoodness! I thought my 10 pounder was large too. Was she gestational diabetic? Not that I know of? And it was not a c/s!
happypamama
Wow! Congratulations! Did they suspect such a large baby? If so, I'm particularly impressed that the medical staff didn't insist on a c/s.

Nakia
Holy moly. As a mother-baby nurse, the biggest baby I've taken care of was 12 lbs. He was huge! It was mom's 4th baby, and none of them had been less than 10.5 lbs. *thankful for average size babies*

higginszoo
Congratulations on your not-so-little new niece. I hope that mom and baby can be reunited soon. With the transfer, it sounds like there were likely some undetected gd issues, but those things can usually be resolved quickly for both mom and baby.
