HappyGrace
Would Vaseline work? I don't want to mess up my New Year's Resolution on the second day by not jogging, but it's supposed to be cold and very windy tomorrow. I use Retin A on my face so my face is kind of sensitive right now and the cold wind on it would chap it terribly!! But I am determined to go! :) Any ideas? Coffeetime
I wear a hat and wrap a scarf around the bottom half of my face- keeps your face from chapping and your lungs from breathing such cold air.

venusmom
I am super sensitive to stuff with fragrance...but I get really dry. I've used a thin layer of vaseline without problems and I've used fragrance free moisturizers like cetaphil as well.

Element
I have fairly sensitive skin and I would highly recommend Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15. However, if you're just looking for "What can I use that I already have around the house" I think a thin layer of Vaseline and some sunscreen would be fine. StephanieZ
Vaseline is very non-reactive. It's what I use on very senstitive or injured skin. In your shoes, that's what I'd try. (I am guessing you should also wear a hat with a visor due to the sun sensitivity with Retin-A, right?) Do you have a buff? If not, you should run and buy one ASAP. LOL, I love them. https://www.buffwear.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/52 You can use it over your face, even across your mouth if it is very cold. HappyGrace
Thanks, everyone! I had Vaseline around so I used that, and it worked just fine. In fact, I think it even helped calm the skin a little that had a little redness from the Retin A. I like the buff! Too bad I didn't see that in time for Christmas! I bought a buff (a Survivor one of course :D) for my eldest as a stocking stuffer. He loves it for running.
juelle
Olive oil? I'm using for general purpose moisturizing this winter.
Lizzie in Ma
I used to always put Vaseline on all of us to go out and play in the wind and cold, it does a fabulous job of protection. Also works overnight if you forgot something and got chapped.
ReneTL
Vaseline works, but it is petroleum based. I'm pretty funny about that on my skin. I use Lansinoh (lanolin for breastfeeding moms) for anything that gets chapped on our face and it works great! Peace, Rene
Lily_Grace
Olive oil? I'm using for general purpose moisturizing this winter. That's what I was going to suggest. I use it for moisturizing and a facial cleaner. The stuff is wonderful. I wouldn't suggest using vaseline at all - there's something about sticking plastic in my pores that makes me want to shudder. Olive oil (or nearly any plant based oil) tends to work with your skin better.
