ISO: An Orlando villa to rent for a week -- any suggestions?

Recommended Posts

My parents own timeshares (Marriott's) and would LOVE to rent one for a week at a reasonable rate to someone that will not tear it up. If you are interested, please pm me and let me know dates. The resorts are one of these two:

Marriott Grande Vista http://www.marriottvacationclub.com/vacation-resorts/marriott-grande-vista/overview.shtml

Marriott Lakeshore Reserve http://www.marriottvacationclub.com/vacation-resorts/marriott-lakeshore-reserve/overview.shtml

My dad had open heart surgery two weeks ago and they don't plan to travel much this year due to physical constraints. They are hesitant to list on a public site such as craigslist because they are afraid of partying college kids.

I have stayed at both and they are niiiiiice!

We've used both of these companies with great success:

Florida Sun Vacation Homes

Vacation Central Florida

The first is a large management company with many, many owners, but their standards are pretty high and their properties are nice (though the last time we stayed there we did notice that Windsor Hills is starting to show its age)

The second is much smaller--a group of families who own and manage their rentals together. They are also at Windsor Hills.

Oh, that sounds LOVELY! I have seen that place and it is very nice. How many weeks do they have?

I am not going anywhere right now, but may go back in the Fall.

Check out Windsor hills! It is a complex with huge houses with their own pool as well as smaller condos. They have a nice pool area with a ton of playgrounds. We loved it there!

I second Windsor Hills. This is the villa we rented a few years ago.

It was inexpensive and very nice.

We've rented at Windsor Hills multiple times and you really can't go wrong. Windsor Plams is also nice and exactly the same layouts, but with a salt water pool (without the tunnel slide). Bonnet Creek has a spa, and is more of a resort, with more things to do. You can't get a manicure at WH or WP, for instance. ;) Although I did not get one as I am a cheapskate. One of the places (condo) we rented at WH was only $79/night. They are great bargains for families, and are clean, comfortable and spacious. They offer parents actual privacy, which is not to be underestimated. Further, I've often stayed behind, lounging by the pool while dh & the kids go off to do things. We have family in the Tampa area and we have been known to stay at WH and not go to WDW at all.
