kalanamak
Yes. It sure makes him happier to write letters. Thank goodness for Aunties in their 70s.
Bang!Zoom!
I was thinking....we are switching over to distance ed. As a motivator (in a sneaky way) as she scales or becomes fluent in an area...mailing her a prize package from some non-existent benefactor (me in disguise) who's proud of her accomplishments as she moves along. Maybe put her on a few mailing lists that have "freebies" and stuff. I wonder if it would keep her excited and curious. Kinda like an educational-fairy with "presents". Nothing fancy, just simple things she'd enjoy. And just keep it a secret...
Dmmetler
Mine does-which is one reason why I like subscriptions, like the old Lego Brickmaster club.
arghmatey
Yes! So do I. I also enjoy writing to people. Getting something hand-written in the mail gives us all a little thrill.
Desert Rat
Yes! We also sign them up for catalogs in their names, mostly fishing/outdoorsy stuff.
QuirkyKapers
Yes- They love it. We have magazine subscriptions and they can't wait to get them. It's always nice when they get something unexpected though, like an invite to a birthday party.
Mommy22alyns
Yes, the girls have penpals and they flip out when they get letters!
PinkInTheBlue
Absolutely. Deliriously happy. My 15 year old has a small duct tape wallets business and he LOVES to check the mail in hopes he'll get something. The 5 year old got a package from "Santa" last week and he was giggling and giddy.
