jetted4
For Math, I use Singapore Primary Mathematics. Though I like their structure, I am disappointed that they don't provide better explanations for the concepts. Works fine if Mom has a good background in math, but not as helpful otherwise. <<>> Spelling: I use my own creation (a color-coding system): http://mysite.verizon.net/jetted4/spelling.htm <<>> Reading Comprehension: I really like an older program put out by Hooked on Phonics - SRA, Your Reading Power <<>> History: using Usborne book of World History and Mystery of History as a spring board, plus found a number of books on the ancients at the library that include crafts/activities. <<>> Writing: alternate between lapbooks on a science topic and my son writing in a journal (he got interested in keeping a journal after reading about Husdon Taylor) <<>> Science: I teach 3rd-5th grade physics at our co-op this Fall (I put the lessons together with the help of my husband, who is a scientist). In the Spring another mom will take over and teach Chemistry.

Alice
3rd grade: Spelling Power MCT (Michael Clay Thompson)- We've finished Grammar Island and are working on the Practice sentences, Sentence Island and Building Language. FLL 3- I bought this because I couldn't decide which grammar curriculum to buy last year. Dh finally just told me to buy both. We don't use it a lot yet, but I've been doing some of the things like dictionary skills with him. WWE (Writing with Ease) 3 Handwriting Without Tears Cursive Singapore Math 3b Zaccaro Primary Challenge Math Lively Latin- in the second half of book 1 Science- We're doing Chemistry using a variety of resources. History- We were doing Story of the World 3 but it wasn't working for me so we're taking a break and doing more American History using primarily the Maestro books along with lots of library resources.
