Mergath
Isn't that the same state baby Lisa lived in? Or am I totally off on that?
Rai B.
That is creepily similar. Isn't that the same state baby Lisa lived in? Or am I totally off on that? Yes, both were in Missouri.

unsinkable
this thread needs a warning. It is about a 1 year old baby boy found dead in a cemetery. Edited November 16, 2011 by unsinkable can't spell
KidsHappen
Yes, it is weird. With both cases being so mysterious though it is really hard to tell if maybe we are dealing with a copy cat situation or if it really could be a serial situation. In any case, I hope they resolve these soon.

BarbecueMom
If this is the Tyler Dasher story, then yes. This happened just outside of St. Louis yesterday. A female suspect was arrested this morning, but police haven't said who that person is. We also had a local babysitter arrested yesterday for shaking a child to death. I don't even have words for how angry and sick this makes me.

twoxcell
My dh thought it was the same story on his lunch break. He called me over to tell me they found the baby. I had to tell him it was a different story.:(
unsinkable
Mom is in jail on a 24 hour hold. It makes me wonder what would have happened if Lisa Irwin's mom would have had the same thing done to her. Would she have been more forthcoming with her information? from article: Affton, Mo (KSDK) - Shelby Dasher, the mother of Tyler Dasher, was booked on a 24-hour hold at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday at the county jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, according to a St. Louis County jail supervisor. Prosecutors have not formally charged Shelby Dasher, 20, with a crime. The prosecutor's office said there is an afternoon press conference planned. NewsChannel 5 will carry it live and it will be streamed on ksdk.com. Emily Rowley who is a close friend of Shelby's said she believes she is innocent and that Tyler was her world. "She didn't do it," said Rowley. "Until those words come out of her mouth, I have all the faith in her." "She is very strong, very independent," said Shelby's friend Holly Barton, after hearing of Shelby's arrest. "She would have done anything for Tyler. If she had to go without, that that's what it would have been. She wouldn't have thought twice about it." In a statement issued just before 6 a.m., St. Louis County police said an arrest has been made in the case, but the person has not yet been formally processed. A person was escorted by investigators to the scene where 13-month-old Tyler Dasher's body was found yesterday and then was transported to St. Louis County Police Headquarters in Clayton. Police were spotted Wednesday morning leading the person around the crime scene. The person then got into a car with investigators and was driven back to the Dasher home. The person had on a grey hood and was escorted back into the home in Affton. After about 30 minutes, the person was escorted back to the vehicle and driven to Clayton. BarbecueMom
I don't know the parents, but I wouldn't fall off my chair if there was heroin use involved. ETA: From the latest article: A police source says authorities believe Shelby Dasher killed her son after she "became very, very angry." It was unclear what triggered her rage. unsinkable
here is a video with a few different sections. video At about 5:10 there is footage of the mom walking with police and laughing at one point. This was from a few hours AFTER she reported her baby missing. We now know she had beaten him to death and dumped his body, then lied about it. THIS is the reason why I get so sick of the PC talk of, "don't judge how others mourn" when a crime has been committed Edited November 17, 2011 by unsinkable
lionfamily1999
http://www.examiner.com/crime-justice-in-national/baby-lisa-baby-sky-and-baby-tyler-victims-of-the-casey-effect I don't agree with the article (I don't think mothers are killing their children because Anthony 'got away with it'). I do think there could be a connection between Anthony and mothers not helping. I think people are more ready to believe the mother did it and so, innocent or not, mothers are the prime suspects and there's a chance that even an innocent person would stop helping the police, if only with the hope that the police will then move on to seek the actual perpetrator. This doesn't even seem that new to me (mothers killing their children). Susan Smith was supposed to be getting out around now. I remember her, I remember the whole tv drama of it. She's managed to serve her time. How insane is that? If I were to go with the 'reporter' in the article posted, I might add in that Smith getting out and Anthony getting off has shown mothers that even if the charge sticks, they will get out eventually. :(
