Julie in CA
Nevaeh. Why do people do this? :001_huh: {sigh} Don't answer that--it doesn't matter. I just want to know how to pronounce the name.

Avila
Ne-VAY-uh, I think. At least that is how the one little girl I know with the name pronounces it. It is Heaven backwards.
MHowell
Na-vey-ah? I have no clue :001_unsure:
Guest lahmeh
Back when I was a teenager a lot of girls said they were going to name their daughter Nevaeh (Heaven backwards). I've always heard it said *nuh-vay*.
sewingmama
Nah -vey-ah It's Heaven spelt backwards don't you know ;)
QueenCat
My friend's daughter is named Nevaeh. She was a foster child, already had the name, so I don't know the why in this case.. I do know it's heaven spelled backwards, just don't know why the birth parents chose it... Anyway, she says "Ne VAY ah" Edited October 17, 2011 by CathieC
elise1mds
There's a Nevaeh at DD's school. I'm her favorite substitute teacher. :) Her name is pronounced as most people have said so far, "Ne-VAY-uh."
Julie in CA
Perhaps this will help. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nevaeh Um, yeah. MTV Cribs Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School Women's wrestling ring name Yeah, now it does make sense. :001_smile: (Thanks!)
IsabelC
I would have guessed Nuh-VAY-ah. It's not a fave of mine, I'd just go ahead and call the child Heaven if I wanted to. Or Heavenly. Or Nirvana. (Not quite the same thing, but I like it because I know a lovely woman called Nirvana). Grover
I'm pretty sure the correct pronunciation is "NeVayuh, it's heaven backwards". As in, "Hello, my name is Nevaeh, it's heaven backwards."
