Jennifer3141
I am terrified of making pie crusts so I feel for both you and your DD!!! :grouphug:
elise1mds
My children will never make pie with me. I can make it in my sleep and seeing a mangled crust would make me... well... poke my eyes out. Hang in there!
MamaT
Oh my goodness, I remember doing that with my dd who is now 14 and can make pie crust better than I can - but that first time . . . Hang in there.
Chris in VA
Well, it's in the oven. The bottom crust was too short, and we did 2 more tries to make a top crust, but finally we just made a totally new batch (3 batches all together) and made the top on. And my husband is playing around on the new banjo he picked up at the night-before-the-garage-sale set up at church. He doesn't PLAY the banjo.... lionfamily1999
 Sounds like your house is the place to be! How much fun are you going to have looking back on all this mess, to the soundtrack of Rainbow Connection bashed out on a banjo... abbeyej
I have made a concerted effort this year to let my children cook (while I supervise, being as hands-off as possible) at least once a week. The first day I let them make a whole meal *and* bake (and frost) a cake, dh said to me, "I didn't want to say anything before, but will you admit now that this was a really bad idea?" roflol. I'm getting better. And my blood pressure may have been dangerously high for some of the time, but I've recovered. *twitch*

Blueridge
I understand completely. ;) Here's hoping that the pies are fabulous!
Hedgehog
Well done you for teaching her how to make pie crust - that's one thing I can't make. I might just as well use cardboard for all the difference it makes!
OrganicAnn
Cooking with kids is a great thing. But oh my is it difficult. We do both allow DD to decide what's for dinner and help for shopping. And also help with the cooking of a meal or a dish.

I've been trying to cook with my 11 year old, and it really tries my patience. I think I probably ought to help him find something really simple, and then I need to get out of the kitchen and let him deal with it!
