daughterofsarah77
Ok, I am not looking to teach my little guy to read or anything fancy like that!!! : ) : ) I just feel like he gets swept to the wayside too often, and I'd like to add some structure to his day. I am horrible about getting stuff like that done unless I have a box to check : ) Anyone have suggestions for an easy, fun, and free curriculum appropriate for an almost 2 year old? Something to work on colors, shapes, fingerplays, songs, Bible, stories...themes? Thanks!
JoyfulMama
Have you ever looked at the book Slow and Steady, Get me Ready?
K&Rs Mom
Have you ever looked at the book Slow and Steady, Get me Ready? :iagree: That's a good one. I also had one by the Gymboree company called "Mommy and Me" that had mostly seasonal-type stuff - February's color was red, shape was a heart, projects involved winter weather.... It had stuff that could last from about ages 2-5.
AngelBee
www.letteroftheweek.com Heart of Dakota has a Preschool curriculum that is nice. http://weefolkart.com/content/winter-wonderland-preschoolkindergarten-curriculum This one is free. On left side are links to winter, autumn, and spring. (Summer coming!)

I really like the Rod and Staff pre-school workbooks[/url and these Very slow, gentle and satisfies their desire to do school with the big kids. Farrar
Have you ever looked at the book Slow and Steady, Get me Ready? :iagree: I was going to suggest that too. We also had The Toddler's Busy Book from the thrift store and I found that surprisingly useful for filling the day with interesting (time killing and educational for that age) activities. coffeegal
:bigear: My toddler is busy busy busy... She would love a curriculum of her own. :D
Sophia
One of my dc enjoyed this as a toddler. Nice because everything was in it and I didn't have to run around collecting supplies.

elegantlion
The Linton Academy, a poster from here, has some great inexpensive ideas on her blog. I really wish I'd known her when my son was little.

Kirch
Itty Bitty Bookworm looks super cute, but I didn't find it until mine were too big. I used a lot of ideas from the Young Toddlers Curriculum at Pamm's House. Good ideas, links to other good ideas, and inspired my own ideas. Tohru
I highly suggest the Toddler Theme Calendar. It's so easy and requires zero planning, is themed by season, and simple. The book is set up like a calendar that you can hang on your wall. It opens to a 2-week spread of ideas. You can do every idea every day, a few of the same ideas over and over, or do everything over the week. Just glance at the calender and give your little one something to do. The reason why I like it above all my other toddler idea books is that there aren't so many ideas it's overwhelming. Songs, snack ideas, and activities are all there without having to pick and plan out the week. And the materials are generally already in your house, like tape, paper, toilet paper tube, etc.
daughterofsarah77
Thanks everyone! I am so over-inspired now with all these awesome sites and ideas! And I am thinking it will be so neat to have my older dd be able to help do "school" with the little one!
IrresistibleGrace
I agree with 'Slow and Steady, Get Me Ready' though now I am going to have to check in to some of the others mentioned.
Chrystal
We loved the Five in a Row curriculum and the Before 5 in a Row. Just snuggle story time with some learning thrown in for good measure.
