I'm confused about this post ovulatory breast tenderness issue, so I need to ask a clump of hens like us.

For those of you / us with normal monthly menstrual cycles (not produced by birth control pills please), what percentage of your cycles are characterized by post-ovulatory (2nd half of cycle) breast tenderness?

Most of them, like 90% (90% of mine).

I have tenderness around ovulation for a few days during most cycles. I don't notice tenderness too much after ovulation.

Similar to the pp, I would have said 100% of the time prior to 42 years old. Now that I'm officially peri-men I would say maybe 10% of the time.

99-100% if the time I get some degree of tenderness---some months more than others.....

That is interesting. Mine didn't start until about 37. I always do things backwards.

Right around ovulation or the last few days of the cycle before AF comes? I never feel it mid-cycle but get it probably 85-90% as a PMS symptom.

I am the exact opposite. I had never experienced it until firmly entering pre-menopause. Now the frequency is increasing. (Actually, I had very few PMS symptoms until pre-menopause; now I experience all of them with increasing frequency. :glare: )

EVERY month. EVERY single month. Mine started a couple years ago. I was convinced I had cancer! But, then it went away when I got my period. I was so relieved to learn it was normal!!!

It was 100% of the time before I had kids...then during all the pg/nursing years, it didn't hurt at all during that post ovulatory time (it hurt during pg on and off). Now that I've weaned my last child, it hurts every single month again.

I've been having post-ovulatory breast tenderness with every cycle for the past two years or so (since the birth of my last child). I never noticed it before that, and it's very noticeable now. I am 30.

I had it as a teenager, but then it went away. In my mid-30's, it has returned. I now have pain from a few days after ovulation until a few days after my period starts. :glare:
