GailV
Actually I was thinking of miso paste. I have food on the brain, you see. I wouldn't dream of talking about umami science programs, and umami ribs would just be silly. What else would they be? Never mind me... Rosie I'd go with an umami science program over a meaty one. stripe
And then 'rigor', as that word takes me immediately to 'rigor mortis'. Thank you. I cringe when I hear about "rigorous" curricula.
HollyB
We have always used mathlete! My daughter now thinks it's a real word. I'm warming up to math-head though.:001_smile:
lionfamily1999
I'm not sure exactly why it bothers me. I guess just seeing it so often makes it more annoying. Crafty and artsy don't bother me but I don't see those very often I guess. Just call me Aunty Mathy (anti-mathy). I'm throwing crafty under the bus then. It always makes me think people are praising their children's sly underhandedness. Does anyone remember that thread from a couple of years ago about words people hate? Moist made a strong showing, if memory serves. :glare: 'Pepper Ann' ruined that word for me. Mmmmoissssst. "My daughter is a total math-head!" says one mom proudly at homeschool park day. Other moms quickly and quietly gather up their children and run to their cars. That's what I thought too.

Cinder
Eek--I just saw this thread today. So I'm here to confess that yesterday I wrote a post and used the word "mathy." Hangs head in shame. :D Cinder
