FairProspects
I never had sentence diagramming in school. If I want to teach myself diagramming, what would be the best resource to use? FLL 2? Rod and Staff? Something else entirely?
SilverMoon
FLL doesn't begin diagramming until grade 3. :) I'd go with something like Mary Daly's The First Whole Book of Diagrams.

hjacob
I'm in the same boat, and about to give Analytical Grammar a try. Check out their website: http://www.analyticalgrammar.com/
mommyofthree
The First Whole Book of Diagrams is excellent.

Girlmom123
I use First Language Lessons for my daughters. It's super simple and easy to follow.
Mrs Mungo
I'd go with something like Mary Daly's The First Whole Book of Diagrams. I agree, I use this for my kids, it's the perfect thing, imo.
Kareni
No personal experience but I've seen Rex Barks: Diagramming Sentences Made Easy by Phyllis Davenport highly recommended. Here is one mention of it on the board here. And here's a review by Lisa VanDamme. Regards, Kareni

Check out their website: http://www.analyticalgrammar.com/ That's what I'm using. So far (which is not far, unfortunately) so good. kalanamak
No personal experience but I've seen Rex Barks: Diagramming Sentences Made Easy by Phyllis Davenport highly recommended. I love Rex Barks. Every other attempt at learning it left me snoring. She is the PG Wodehouse of diagramming. If she is still alive and kicking, I'm thinking of sending her bomb threats to make her write a grammar book, too.
MaMa2005
Here is a great website and it's free :001_smile: - http://www.punctilious.org/grammar/diagrams2/diagrams_frames.htm
nono
If you don't want to read a book, befriend a Catholic teaching nun (or former). In a week, you'll be golden! ;)
Capt_Uhura
I liked REx Barks as well. I checked it out from the library. WHen I need a quick refresher, I just google sentence diagramming and it pulls up several websites.
momtofive
For sound instruction in grammar and not a lot of cash, go with Rod and Staff. I'm thinking the level 5 does a lot of instruction on sentence diagramming! HTH!
Guest
The First Whole Book of Diagrams is excellent. In my WTM book, for those that will be using Shurley English, SWB recommends the book mommyofthree has posted.
