rookie
Gearing up for baby. I see that there are swaddle blankets that stay tucked the whole night through and am wondering if you have tried these and which work best. Thanks.

Aden and Anais are hands down the best: http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=aden+anais&tag=yahhyd-20&index=baby&hvadid=46141282011&ref=pd_sl_70ulczyfqt_e
Carrie12345
Nope! For me, the key to good swaddling was having a long enough blanket. Narrow blankets don't have enough "tuck" to them to stay in place. My little burritos didn't budge unless my good blankies were all in the wash. ;)
cillakat
i love the muslin swaddling blankets the 1st reply mentioned. I also looooove the miracle blanket. Aside from that, any 42x42 blanket works fine. ime, the thinner the better. K
rookie
has anyone tried the types of swaddlers that have velcro closures so baby's arms are not free? thanks for the recs. i will look into these.
ScoutTN
Made my own! Easy and cheap and they worked wonderfully. 4' x 4' piece of very light cotton flannel. I used white. Then crochet the edges in whatever colored yarn you like. Or you could add a fabric border. I made three of these for each baby.
angela in ohio
The Carter's waffle weave blankets always worked well for us. They are very stretchy, so you can pull them around tight.
Crimson Wife
has anyone tried the types of swaddlers that have velcro closures so baby's arms are not free? I got one of these as a gift with my 2nd baby. I think it is a SwaddleMe but I've got all my newborn stuff in storage. It was great when I was sleep-deprived and juggling a very active 3 y.o. and newborn (or a 6 y.o., 3 y.o., and a newborn).

These are the ones I love. The stretchiness is key.

We still have one in the doll bin, and it always reminds me of my newborns. :p

cillakat
has anyone tried the types of swaddlers that have velcro closures so baby's arms are not free? thanks for the recs. i will look into these. not crazy about the velcro ones typically. noise....getting stuck on things in the wash etc the miracle blanket holds the baby's arms down and if you're doing the karp 'arm's down' swaddle then it's fine regardless of the blanket. fwiw, i never swaddle legs in.....ime it's kicking legs that undo swaddles. having said that:) here are some unusual swaddle videos that I like: Swaddling in muslin along the straight edge - hands down or up Special Swaddle - top of head fully enclosed - on the diagonal
