melissel
Saltwater gargle/swish? I usually take ibuprofen. A really bad sore threat is the beginning of just about any illness I contract :grouphug:
Guest Virginia Dawn
My dad swears by hot lemonade and honey, but that sounds painful to me so I never tried it.

Tea with honey and lemon too--warm though, not hot, ugh, that just gave me a shudder. I never thought of lemonade and honey, I'll have to remember that. Chris in VA
My dd just came in with the same complaint. I sent her off to gargle w/salt water and I'm going to give her some ibuprofen and some chlorseptic.

Yep, hot lemon and honey, it's not painful at all. It's quite soothing... I've had a sore throat for a couple days now and this is what I've been drinking. I put some lemon juice and some honey in a glass (I don't know, one to two tablespoons each? I just guess..) then fill it up with hot water (not boiling) and mix. Quad Shot Academy
Ibuprofin and Throat Coat Tea work miracles, but if all else fails I move on to Hershey's Kisses. :D

Jeannie in NJ
ok I took some iburprofin and a huge mug of green tea with lemon juice and honey. My throat feels better. Is apple cider vineager better than the lemon juice in the tea?
Mom-ninja.
My midwife swears that ginger works instantly. Grate some fresh ginger, chew it, suck on it, and only swallow the juice. She says it's nasty nasty and burns. However, the sore throat will be gone. I've never tried.
