  1. We stay in our PJ's here and only get dressed when we have somewhere to go.
  2. Yes, I'd like a little more info too. How do you sign up, how long is the class, is this a one day thing, and what age range it's for?
  3. Wool "hiking" socks from Maggies Organics. The MOST comfortable and warmest socks I own. (I've got Smartwool, Bridgedale, Costco brand) If you can't get those then the Costco ones would be my second best.
  4. I agree with all the suggestions given to you thus far. Ds1 was transverse and the chiropractic adjustments helped he turned just a little while before I gave birth. The only other suggestion I can add is to have your dh get down, er, there and talk to the baby, maybe read a story or sing a song. He probably will feel really silly and so might you, but for some reason babies love daddy's voice.
  5. :seeya: This is our first year homeschooling and I've learned so much from the folks on this forum. Welcome!!
  6. I've never heard of them, but it looks interesting. I wish they had some samples online.
  7. I used to only use liquid with a scrubbie, but I've switched to bar soap with a scrubbie. I got tired of all the plastic bottles. Dc and Dh use whatever I put out for them:tongue_smilie: Usually a very mild soap because dc have skin issues.
  8. Thanks for sharing your son's sequence, it does help to see how one progresses until college.
  9. I've printed out the first 30 lessons, worksheets, their copymasters and posters so far. Once we finish, I'll then print out the next 30. I'm using it along side Rightstart and CTC's Mathematical Reasoning 1. I do think it's a great program so far. I'm only using so many diff. maths right now to try and get an idea for what's going to work best for ds1 and I.
  10. :iagree: I remember learning Va's state history in elementary school, but at the time I didn't realize it was just our state's history, I really thought we were just studying the history of the US! I guess I would respectfully disagree with most of the posts though. I do think children should learn the details of their state's history. Although we are the United States, I feel it's still important to know the defining characteristics of your particular state and should hopefully spur a little extra local pride. However, I don't think this is a subject that needs a full year devoted to it. Maybe a summer or a couple of months.
  11. This sounds great, thanks for sharing! I'm going to try it with an egg replacer, hope it still turns out alright.
  12. I agree a responsible medical professional should have recommended counseling. It is possible that she did run in to some doctors that did, but unfortunately all they can do is recommend and make a referral. It is the patient who will either heed the advice or find another doctor that will do it. And unfortunately, there is always someone else if you look hard enough. It's just mind-boggling to me that an attack of conscious didn't hit her any sooner, I mean 15!! Didn't she say that she almost died with one of them. Still no wake-up call??!! I agree with Angela, I hope she is seeking professional help now. Writing a memoir can be cathartic but it doesn't resolve all those deep seeded issues.
  13. I believe the only difference is that the snail has shell and the slug does not.
  14. I've never thought to kill the germs/bugs off of pine cones.
  15. I am so sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you and your family. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:
  16. We use Green Pastures Blue Ice Cod Liver Oil. The kids only have to take 1/4 tsp and I take 1/2 tsp.
  17. Mine just still look like bones. Some are very brittle and break easily, but nothing really odd looking.
  18. I agree with pp and recommend Hanna Andersson's unders. I would try calling one of the outlets and see if they have any on sale. If so, you can place a phone order and they'll ship them to you. Last time I called, they were around 4.50 for one, so still pretty pricey. I got ds's a couple of years ago for $5 for a 3 pack, but they told me they don't sell 3 packs anymore at the outlets. Also, check for coupons, I think there is a 20% off code floating around cyberspace right now.
